She’ll bring the sassy extravagance of Samantha Jones to the big screen next month when “Sex and the City: The Movie” makes its debut, but Kim Cattrall wants to make one thing clear: She and Sam aren’t one and the same. Speaking to The Advocate, Kim explained how some confuse her for her larger-than-life character.

“People book me on jobs and expect Samantha to show up.” Referring to her character in the third person, Kim told the publication, “She has a tremendous fan base.”

Conveniently, there’s one easy way to tell the two apart. It’s all in the company Kim keeps. Don’t expect to catch her enjoying a round of cosmos with Sara Jessica Parker and the rest of the “Sex” set. “If you’re spending 18 hours a day (at work), the last thing you want to do is go and have a drink with the people who you just — you just need to get away,” Kim confessed.

Lindsay Lohan continued to support good friend (and maybe girlfriend) Samantha Ronson (famous DJ and lesbian), hanging out at Times Square’s Hawaiian Tropic Zone as Ronson spun tunes from midnight to 4 a.m. Sunday. It has been rumored that Lohan and Ronson are dating. Ronson was often seen partying with Lindsay Lohan in 2007, culminating on Memorial weekend when Lohan was photographed passed out in Ronson’s car after a long night of partying less than 48-hours after her first of two DUI arrests.

The pair arrived together, both wearing black leather jackets, right on time at 12 a.m. A blond-haired Lohan stationed herself at a table directly behind Ronson’s deejay booth in the second level VIP section, which overlooked a packed dance floor.

For the first hour, the star sat at her table, chatting with friends and smoking cigarettes. Then Lohan started dancing to Britney Spears’s “Gimme More.” Drinking Grey Goose and Red Bull cocktails, she danced the night away with girlfriends. Lohan really got into the music, tossing her hair around and doing full body rolls – even throwing her hands in the air and singing along to Madonna’s new song “4 Minutes.” She also sang along and pumped her chest to “Soulja Boy.”

Tom Cruise is returning to “Oprah”!

The actor hasn’t appeared on Winfrey’s daytime talk show since his June 23, 2005, appearance where in addition to promoting “War of the Worlds,” he very enthusiastically expressed his love for future wife Katie Holmes (we’re putting the whole couch incident in the past).

It’s not clear what the focus of this show will be, but it is well-timed to May sweeps, and a quick look at the calendar shows that this summer is the 25th anniversary of Cruise’s breakthrough role in “Risky Business.”

We think Tom is a sweet guy and we hope his appearance goes with controversary. 

Bill O’Reilly can’t stop talking about the leaked photos of Miley Cyrus in her bra.  He seems obsessed with the young teen these days.

The Fox News host has called for a “conference” to discuss new leaked photos of a lingerie-clad Miley Cyrus, 15. A grown man who wants to discuss the lingerie photos of a teenage girl, no matter what his “moral” excuse might be is just CREEPY. Bill, you old pervert, let Disney and Miley (and her people) work it out.

The only problem that Miley has, if this even is one, is that the Disney machine has given her such an impossibly clean image, that she can only eventually fall from public grace.  Miley is not as perfect as Disney wants you to think she is.  What the Bill O’Reilly conservatives of the world should know, is that she is a young girl, probably exploring her sexuality.  That is what a lot of teenage girls do.  It’s OK.  It’s probably a phase.  She isn’t perfect.  There is no need for a conference, Bill.

Two months after the birth of her twins, Jennifer Lopez is back at work, promoting a new project: a reality show. The singer-actress announced her untitled “docu-series” for the TLC network at New York’s Lincoln Center on Wednesday. Said Lopez of her new venture: “I’m looking forward to sharing this exciting journey together.”

“Jennifer is unbelievably passionate about life and will be an incredible role model for our audience,” TLC President, Angela Shapiro-Mathes said in a statement.

Will you watch?  I’m undecided.

Maybe the third time will be the charm, for 36 year-old Carmen Electra.  Carmen’s rep is comfirming that she is indeed engaged to rocker Rob Patterson, 37.

“He told friends three days ago that he got engaged,” adds a source. “The ring is a black diamond set in white diamonds.”

Hmm…a black diamond with white diamonds. That is quite unusual.

Patterson, 37, who is the former touring guitarist for Korn, popped the question over the weekend while he and Electra were in Las Vegas to celebrate her 36th birthday, says the source. The couple have been dating less than a year.

Electra wed rocker Dave Navarro in 2003; they two called it quits in 2006. Remember their MTV reality show???

She and gender-confused NBA star Dennis Rodman eloped to Las Vegas in 1998. Their marriage was later annulled.

Seriously though, we really like Carmen and wish her the best.

One is newly single and one is newly married. It was boy’s night out for Kanye West and Jay-Z.

The pair partied at the nightclub Goa for West’s official afterparty following his “Glow in the Dark” tour performance at the Nokia Theatre L.A. Live. Famous guests such as Paris Hilton, Benji Madden, Rob Kardashian and Adrienne Bailon had already come and gone by the time the rappers showed up around 1 a.m.

A solo Jay-Z — clad in a hood, sunglasses and no wedding ring — arrived first and bypassed the red carpet. West entered the club about 10 minutes later and joined his friend in a center booth overlooking the dance floor. West smiled and greeted partygoers while clutching a bottle of Absolut 100 vodka, the event’s sponsor.

Jamie Foxx commanded a corner booth and entertained a bevy of beautiful women. “Friday Night Lights” stars Scott Porter and Minka Kelly grooved to the music. Nickelodeon host Quddus spent most of the night on the dance floor. And recent “American Idol” cast-off Michael Johns was stationed at a quiet Morrocan-themed bar away from the hubbub with a friend.

It seems that the cause of Paris Hilton’s ban is the result of her writing on an expensive hotel wall.

The hotel heiress, 27, wrote ‘Paris Moscow 2008′ in a black marker pen in $16,000 -a-night suite in the Hyatt Hotel in the Russian capital.
Hilton wrote on the wall for a photo-shoot in the room. However bosses at the hotel were unimpressed - and fined her $9,000. A hotel spokesman says, “Miss Hilton ruined the wallpaper in the luxury suite. In such a case the client automatically goes on the black list.”

Unfortunately, we suspected this was coming. Star Jones has filed for divorce from her husband of less than four years, Al Reynolds. The 46-year-old TV personality quietly filed divorce papers March 26 in New York Supreme Court in Manhattan. The records are sealed.

But a representative for SHADOW PR, which represents Jones, confirmed that she is seeking to end the union.

In a statement Jones said: “Several years ago I made an error in judgment by inviting the media into the most intimate area of my life. A month ago I filed for divorce.

“The dissolution of a marriage is a difficult time in anyone’s life that requires privacy with one’s thoughts. I have committed myself to handling this situation with dignity and grace and look forward to emerging from this period as a stronger and wiser woman.”

Kanye West is back on tour and is a single man. His engagement is now off with Alexis Phifer.

Says a source that knows the couple: “He broke up with her. Alexis still doesn’t really know what happened. It’s like she lost her best friend too. Things may change one day. He embraced her son and supported her business and her with all his heart. It’s just a rough time right now.”

Murmurs of a split began late last week with rumors erupting Monday morning over airwaves and blogs. A source close to the couple says that “Kanye is possessed by the tour and everything going on and just couldn’t keep it going. They are still friends and have broken up and gotten back together before, so it could work out.”

Says his former fiancee, Alexis Phifer: “It’s been hard and not been an easy time. I tried to keep things private but yes, it’s sad when things end like this and we truly do remain friends. I wish him the best in his future and all of his endeavors. He’s one of the most talented people I’ve ever met, that’s for sure.”

West, 30, proposed to Phifer in 2006 while vacationing in Italy.

Miley Cyrus has signed a seven-figure book deal with Disney Book Group, the teen star’s publisher announced Tuesday.  Click here to find out how much money Miley Cyrus earned in 2007.

The book will focus on the 15-year-old’s road to fame, from growing up in Tennessee to navigating the spotlight as an international star, and how her family – especially mother Leticia – helps keep her grounded. According to Disney, the book will feature never-before-seen photos, family stories and a look at the star’s inner circle.

“I am so excited to let fans in on how important my relationship with my family is to me,” Cyrus said. “I hope to motivate mothers and daughters to build lifetimes of memories together, and inspire kids around the world to live their dreams.”

Publication is scheduled in spring 2009, to coincide with the premiere of the Hannah Montana feature movie.
