Barbra Streisand has donated $5 million to LA’s Cedars-Sinai Medical for a women’s heart education and research program.

Says Streisand, “Women need to be educated about female cardiovascular disease and the medical community must be propelled toward change. Just like with breast cancer the impetus must come from women themselves striving to become empowered to reduce their risks for heart disease.”

Streisand’s monetary gift will create permanent funding for the Barbra Streisand Women’s Cardiovascular Research and Education at Cedars-Sinai, and the hospital said it would expand research efforts there.

Although Ashlee Simpson and Pete Wentz have been denying the baby rumors, People is saying that Ashlee is “eating for two”. Since People always plays it safe with their stories, we are inclined to believe that Ashlee is probably pregnant. Their source also states that the couple will be married in May in La Jolla, Calif., at a friend’s house.

Victoria Beckham, wearing her trademark scowl, goes out to do a little shopping on Robertson Blvd. in the afternoon.  She always manages to look really great, even though she seems to be allergic to smiling.

Too bad her own clothing line was pulled from some high-end shops due to poor sales!

Our hearts go out to Cameron Diaz and her family. Cameron’s father, Emilio Diaz, suddenly passed away after suffering from the flu, which turned in to pneumonia. He was only 58.

Cameron Diaz, 35, also has a sister, Chimene, 37.

Sex and the City star Cynthia Nixon, who’s currently 42, has revealed that she was diagnosed two years ago with breast cancer.

On Tuesday, Nixon spoke about her diagnosis with the disease on Good Morning America. She said, “I didn’t really want to make it public while I was going through it. I didn’t want paparazzi at the hospital, that kind of thing.”

“I always sort of thought, ‘I’m probably going to get breast cancer. There’s a really good chance.’” Nixon said. “I go for my completely routine mammogram and then I get a call from my gynecologist. And she says, ‘Well, I have some — it’s not such great news, but here it is, but it’s very small and we’re just going to get in there and take it right out, right away, and then you’ll probably have radiation.”

Nixon’s mentioned that her girlfriend of four years, activist Christine Marinoni, was also frightened. “My girlfriend was very scared. She was the one doing the eating. She was in a panic. She was just trying to calm herself down any way she could. And, actually, we made a big point of talking to my kids about it.

On February 22, Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony were given the blessings they had long prayed for: healthy boy and girl twins, Max and Emme. Seven weeks later, on Saturday April 12, the couple brought their babies to a church in Long Island, NY, just miles from their Brookville home, to be baptized. The intimate ceremony, attended by only their closest friends and family members, was followed by a reception at Jennifer and Marc’s estate.

I thought Britney Spears had a driver. Wasn’t that something that her dad set up for her? Anyway, it seems Britney was out driving again and she had a fender bender.

According to the accident report, “The collision occurred when the driver of the Mercedes, driving in the #3 lane, in stop and go traffic failed to observe the vehicle directly ahead of her come to a complete stop. She attempted to brake but failed to stop her vehicle prior to colliding into the rear of the Nissan [in front of her].”

It sounds like she wasn’t paying attention. The car in front of her stopped, but obviously she wasn’t looking at the road (or car) in front of her.

Victoria Beckham’s clothing line is being pulled from Fred Segal’s and Kitson.

It seems that Victoria Beckham has tried to get into the fashion business, but she forgot that it is a business.  You can’t just expect that people will buy your clothing because you are rich and famous and love fashion.  You’ve gotta work it, girl.

Posh’s DVB denim range is being dropped due to poor sales and a lack of promo work from the Spice Girl herself. “We asked her PR people so many times for her to appear but she didn’t,” said Kitson owner, Fraser Ross. “Celebrity lines are no different from an album or music tour. They have to be promoted to sell.

Heidi Montag debuted her fashion line, Heidiwood, in Hollywood.

Models hit the catwalk as music from her upcoming, as-yet-untitled pop album blared.

Montag, 21, worked the runway in sky-high black stiletto platform pumps, super short black shorts and a midriff-baring zebra print halter top. “I love zebra print!” she said. “I’m obsessed with it!”

Here is a list of what some of Hollywood’s most talked about people earned in 2007. Remember, these are just 2007 earnings, not their total net worth. Somehow, Dr. Phil made $90 million in 2007 alone. I guess dispensing all of that, “I’ll tell you what” wisdom really pays off. The most peculiar entry on this list is Leona Helmsley’s dog, Trouble, who got $12 million dollars in her will, making Trouble a higher 2007 earner than Katherine Heigl and on equal to Ryan Seacrest. Isn’t that just a little insane?
