Amy Winehouse’s skin has been looking strange lately.

Says her rep: “Amy has been diagnosed with impetigo which she’s been told can be highly contagious. Because of that se’s been put on antibiotics and may have to stay home alone for the next few days.”

Impetigo is a bacterial skin infection. It causes red sores that can break open, ooze fluid, and develop a yellow-brown crust. These sores can occur anywhere on the body but most often appear around the mouth and nose.  Impetigo is seldom serious, and minor infections may clear on their own in two to three weeks.
