Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt were scheduled to have their very first run-in with Jennifer Aniston at the Night Before party at the Beverly Hills Hotel Saturday night.

However, Jolie backed out of going to the bash only hours before.  Jolie told the January 2007 issue of Vogue that she was open to meeting with Aniston. “That would be her decision, and I would welcome it,” she said.

Aniston, a confidant tells the new issue of Us Weekly, thought it was “the perfect chance” encounter for closure. “She said the stress of having to avoid them was more painful than seeing them.”

Remember, Jolie had been keeping people guessing about her pregnancy, but decided to debut her massive baby bump the night before the scheduled Aniston meeting in a tight black dress at the Film Independent’s Spirit Awards.

Jolie is possibly “being either very Machiavellian or very passive-aggressive,” Robert Greene, the author of The 48 Laws of Power tells Us Weekly.

“If Angelina is trying to get under Jen’s skin – push her buttons – this is a clever way to do it,” Greene adds.

“Imagine you’re in Jen’s shoes,” he says. “You’re worried about Angelina showing up. And she never does. It’s infuriating. If intentional, it’s definitely a power move.”

So stealing Brad Pitt wasn’t enough for Angelina?  Us Weekly seems to be saying that Jolie wants to keep some sort of power over the situation.  Not healthy.

She had the media speculating after wearing a suspiciously loose gown to the SAG Awards, but Angelina Jolie let her curves do the talking Saturday. Though she hasn’t officially confirmed her pregnancy, the actress sported a revealing black gown – showing off her blossoming belly – while posing with Brad Pitt on the blue carpet at the Film Independent Spirit Awards.

It’s official: Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie’s adoption of 4-year-old Pax Thien Jolie-Pitt was approved Wednesday by an L.A. County Children’s Court judge.

Jolie adopted little Pax from an orphanage in Vietnam last year, saying at the time, “You can imagine what courage it takes to be in all new surroundings, with new people and a new language. He is very strong.”

Angelina Jolie and six-year-old son Maddox enjoyed some bonding time in LA on Tuesday.

The pair, accompanied by an assistant, attended a screening of The Spiderwick Chronicles at the Arclight theater on Sunset Boulevard.

Maddox seemed to be in great spirits as he made funny faces and walked on the side of a fountain.

A pregnant Jolie, meanwhile, kept her baby bump covered with a trenchcoat.

Celebrity baby pictures are worth millions.  Magazines are paying obscene amounts of money to have the rights to the debut pictures of Hollywood tots.

Nicole Ritchie got $1 million for pictures of Harlow.

Christina Aguilera got $2 million for pictures of Max.

Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt got $4 million for pictures of Shiloh.

Reports are now surfacing that People magazine is willing to pay Jennifer Lopez $4-6 million for pictures of her babies.  She is having twins. Two babies equals double the price!

It makes me wonder, if Angelina Jolie is having twins, how much will those pictures sell for?

Jennifer Aniston, Brad Pitt, and Angelina Jolie are among the A-list hosts of this year’s Night Before pre-Oscar bash.

The press-free charity event promises to be the first time Aniston and Jolie have met since Pitt left Aniston in 2005 and started a family with Jolie a short time later.

“Jen wants to go but knows it would be a disaster waiting to happen,” an Aniston insider reveals.
A source says that Aniston will be at the event as long as her filming schedule allows. The minimum entrance fee is $25,000 for four tickets, with proceeds benefiting the Motion Picture and Television Fund.

Just three years ago, the same party served as a backdrop for Aniston and Pitt’s last public appearance together. Fresh off the announcement of their split, the duo worked the crowd side by side all night.

Adding to the pressure: Jolie, who has said in the past she’d “welcome” a meeting with Aniston, will be receiving congratulations for her pregnancy.

But Aniston seems ready. “She told me avoiding Brad and Angelina is more painful than seeing them,” a pal says.

A Pitt source says that his attendance will be decided at the last minute, but it is traditional for all hosts of the party to attend.

With Brad Pitt in the audience and her latest director Clint Eastwood to present her with the Santa Barbara International Film Festival’s Outstanding Performance of the Year Award for A Mighty Heart, Angelina Jolie signed autographs and posed for photos Saturday night with scores of fans who filled the streets.

She then took to the stage to discuss her career and reveal a few candid nuggets from her off-screen life.   However, reporters were obviously told not to ask about her pregnancy, so no one did. 

Here is what Angelina was willing to share:

• She retains fond memories of sharing a single acting scene in Tomb Raider with her father Jon Voight, from whom she’s currently estranged. “Strangely enough, the scene was about a daughter and her father who had not spent their lives together and had a lot of questions for each other …[It was] kind of therapeutic for us to get some things out and talk. We spent that time as two artists, and it was a special time. It was an important time.”

• When her ex-husband and Pushing Tin costar Billy Bob Thornton was mentioned, she said, “I thought he was an amazing artist, and still is.”

• Prior to screening the famous tango scene clip from Mr. & Mrs. Smith, she was asked if she or Pitt was the better dancer: “I think we’re about equal,” she replied. “Equally not so good.”

• Despite starring in several high-tech productions, she’s technologically challenged in real life: “As Brad knows, I don’t really how to turn on a computer.” (more…)

Although multiple outlets have been reporting on Angelina Jolie’s pregnancy, the actress has not confirmed or denied the baby news.

How come?

Word is that Angelina may be selling the official confirmation story.  The source also adds that Angelina will donate the money to charity.
