Ashley Olsen is fine after the jetliner she was on made an emergency landing at Washington Dulles International Airport.

Olsen was one of about 100 passengers on an NYC-L.A. plane that unexpectedly touched down in Washington Sunday night. Also on the plane, were Olsen’s boyfriend, actor Justin Bartha (The Hangover); Californication actress Pamela Adlon; and Broadway’s Jersey Boys thespian Jarrod Spector. Another passenger, L.A. publicist Phil Lobel, said the plane was forced to land after an electrical fire in the cockpit cracked the jet’s windshield.

Lobel went on to say that about 30 minutes into the flight, he detected an electrical burning smell, and shortly thereafter, flight attendants began going over emergency instructions with passengers in the exit rows and someone brought up a fire extinguisher from the back of the plane.

No injuries were reported, according to FAA spokeswoman Holly Baker, but fire trucks and about a half-dozen other emergency vehicles met the plane on the runway in D.C.; passengers were reportedly booked on outbound flights to Los Angeles on Monday morning (May 17).

A rep for the National Transportation Safety Board said three people have been assigned to investigate the incident to determine the cause of the fire.

Teaming up for a sisterly night on the town, Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen went to a tribute to Tim Burton at The Museum of Modern Art in New York City on Tuesday night, November 17.

The twins were sticking side-by-side as they mingled with a guest list including, Johnny Depp, Brooke Shields and Ashley Greene, among many others.

As always, each Olsen twin brought her own unique style out to play.

Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen were spotted at the Holt Renfrew store on Bloor Street in Toronto promoting their latest collection.

The twins excitedly schmoozed with attendees while displaying the new looks from their Elizabeth and James label.

Ashley recently told press that while she enjoys designing clothes, she doesn’t see herself in the fashion industry for the long haul.

She explained, “[In the fashion world], everyone is just really looking out for themselves. I don’t know if I’ll be designing this collection forever. A couple of years from now, I’m sure I’ll want to do something else and I’m not going to shy away from that.”

In a new interview with Marie Claire, Ashley Olsen compares what her schedule was like as a child star to being the the army:

“It was almost like I was in the army,” Ashley says. “School, work, homework, fly to New York, get in at 2 in the morning, do a morning show at 5 a.m., then another one at 7, then a radio interview at 10, you know?” Cutesy, coordinated outfits were just part of the drill. The pressure was intense and the scrutiny even more so — “That’s why I look at Britney, and I’m surprised I didn’t end up like her.”

It sounds like Ashley is aware of what a weird reality her childhood was – and that’s a good thing. Ashley is 23, has transformed her passion for fashion into a clothing empire, and is dating Justin Bartha (actor, most recently starred in The Hangover). Seems like she has her life in order to us!

According to In Touch Weekly, Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen aren’t getting along.

Ashley and Mary-Kate Olsen, 22, have spent their whole lives in synch, and together created their clothing lines, The Row and Elizabeth and James, but an insider says their work ethics don’t match anymore — causing a serious rift in their relationship.

“Ashley really wants to be a respected businesswoman and be taken seriously,” says the pal. “MK does too, but she hasn’t been willing to give up her lifestyle and act like an adult for their job.” So Ashley has taken a drastic step: distancing her twin from the couture end of their joint fashion empire. “Ashley came to a difficult decision. She decided that MK should not be involved with The Row,” says the insider. “She asked her sister to step back from her current responsibilities until she has her personal life together.”

That is understandable though. 

Instead, MK will focus on their more affordable line, Elizabeth and James, for which their roles were always less hands-on. “It’s tough because The Row was so much of Mary-Kate’s idea,” says the insider. “Mary-Kate has a unique fashion sense,” notes an insider. “I just see myself more as a business person,” Ashley says.

When I think of the Olsen twin who likes to wear multiple layers of clothing on a hot day, I think Mary-Kate.  However, Ashley Olsen was the one walking around on a summer day in NYC wearing an unseasonably warm long black coat with a grey top, jeans, and a pair of flip flops. She must be immune to the summer heat in New York City.

The 21-year-old twins, who topped last year’s Forbes Top Earning Stars Under 21 list with an estimated fortune of $40 million each, are publishing a coffee table book titled Influence, through Penguin Young Readers Group.

It will feature “the most interesting, challenging, creative people we know — the ones who helped pave the way for us and our generation,” Ashley said in a statement.

Among them: shoe guru Christian Louboutin, actress Lauren Hutton, photographer Terry Richardson and writer Bob Colacello.

“Ashley and I interviewed the people who have inspired us, with the hope that they will inspire and teach others,” Mary-Kate said.

The book — due this fall — will also feature exclusive photos of the twins and never-before-seen interviews with the two.

I thought the always caffeinated twins would come out with their own coffee before a coffee table book.  I love artistic coffee table books, so I think I will have to check it out in the fall.
