After Britney Spears helped CBS’ How I Met Your Mother earn its highest ratings of all time, Tina Fey says she wouldn’t mind if the pop singer popped up on her NBC sitcom 30 Rock.

“We would love to work with Britney,” Fey, 37, told reporters yesterday in a conference call. “I’ve worked with her twice on Saturday Night Live and she was very professional and nice.”

Fey also has her eyes set on another A-lister: Oprah Winfrey.

“I want Oprah to play my best friend,” Fey said. “I want to spend time with Oprah, and I don’t know what I need to do to make it happen.”

Britney Spears’ turn as a love-struck receptionist on “How I Met Your Mother” is being touted as a breakthrough of sorts: For the first time in recent memory, Spears appeared before a camera and didn’t display any of the worrisome, if not tragic, behavior that long ago became the status quo.

Was the “How I Met Your Mother” appearance a controlled one that might help Spears’ image? Yes. Will the public be seeing more of the same from the former pop star? Unlikely.

A source close to Spears said that the role was very carefully chosen, and if the production hadn’t agreed to be sensitive toward Spears and avoid “trigger” topics, the Spears camp would have backed out.

“The folks on set knew that they weren’t to bring up her music career, for example,” said the source. “And they weren’t supposed to start conversations about her kids. That said, they just wanted her to be treated normally, but obviously this wasn’t a normal situation.”

South Park featured their take on the Britney Spears situation. Their take is funny, shocking, and definitely makes fun of our celeb-obsessed society, more than it does Ms. Spears. It is a pretty sad and poignant look at Britney’s battle with mental illness (bipolar disorder) under the media’s microscope. Wow!

Here’s a sneak peek at Britney Spears on CBS’s How I Met Your Mother. The pop princess will appear as a receptionist in a doctor’s office alongside series star Josh Radnor and fellow guest star Sarah Chalke.

With brown hair, glasses and a modest sweater, the singer might be unrecognizable to some of her fans. But Spears seemed back to her old self during filming.

“She was on time, she knew her lines. She’s going to be really funny,” said Radnor about Britney’s visit. “I mean, I have nothing scandalous to offer.” The episode airs Monday, March 24.

On Saturday Britney Spears started the day with another visit from her sons Preston and Jayden, and ended the evening at an exotic Russian restaurant for a dinner meeting with Mel Gibson.

Britney Spears will guest star on the March 24 episode of the CBS sitcom How I Met Your Mother.Britney, 26, will play Abby, a receptionist at a dermatologist’s office who falls for architect Ted (Josh Radnor) when he comes in to have a tattoo removed. (It is Spears’ first return to the small screen since a 2006 cameo on Will & Grace.)

In Abby’s first scene, she bursts in during Ted’s painful session.

“Doctor, are you all right? I heard a woman screaming!” Abby says. Seeing Ted, she giggles.

Britney Spears may be worth millions, but she is getting an allowance.

The pop star, who is worth an estimated $100 million, has been approved for a $1,500-a-week allowance on a debit card, Los Angeles Superior Court Commissioner Reva Goetz ruled Monday.

This is a positive move though.  Think about it.  $6000 a month is plenty for her to spend on Starbucks and clothing.  It will also keep her safe from predators who might try to take advantage of her by getting money from her.  The debit card will also force her to take responsibility for how much she is spending and Britney will learn responsibility through this process.

In addition, Goetz approved the hiring of two specialist attorneys to help the singer and her lawyers sort out her affairs while Spears is under a temporary co-conservatorship.

One, Jorge Hernandez, will get a $25,000 retainer to be an around-the-clock consultant on all questions pertaining to the co-conservatorship. The other, lawyer Tom Hansen, will receive $15,000 a month for his services as an entertainment lawyer consulting on Spears’s entertainment deals and contracts.

The ruling comes the same day as a separate hearing in which lawyers for Spears said that her ex-husband, Kevin Federline, should take responsibility for some of his legal bills in the former couple’s ongoing custody battle.
