Carrie Underwood is going to sing the national anthem at the Super Bowl. Underwood joins other big names who have sung the national anthem at the game, includiing Beyonce, Billy Joel and Whitney Houston.

Queen Latifah is going to perform “America the Beautiful” at the game. The Who will provide halftime entertainment.

The Super Bowl is on February 7th in Miami where the Indianapolis Colts will face off against the New Orleans Saints.

Carrie Underwood recently shot a guest appearance on How I Met Your Mother.

Taking to her blog, the country singer wrote, “I got to hang out with the whole cast, dress up like a flight attendant, play a cavewoman and had a baby pig poop on me…that’s right…jealous I’m just glad I grew up on a farm because I think I was the only one who knew how to hold and wasn’t afraid of a little piglet!”

And the cast didn’t seem to mind a Carrie’s lack of experience on set, adding that they, “made me feel right at home and were super patient and great with me and my lack of experience!”

Carrie’s episode will air in March, where she will be playing a mysterious pharmaceutical sales rep who catches the eye of Ted.

“I’m giving up the music business and I’m going to become a professional sitcom actress!” she wrote. “Just kidding, of course, but I did have a blast while I was there!”

Country singer Carrie Underwood, 26, and Mike Fisher, Ottawa Senator hockey player, 29, are engaged!

Carrie’s rep confirms, “I’m happy to confirm that Carrie Underwood is engaged to Mike Fisher, and the couple couldn’t be happier. No wedding date has been set at this time.”

The couple has been quietly dating since last year.

Now that they are engaged, are babies next?

In the January issue of Self magazine, Carrie talked babies.

“Not that I have a husband to have one with yet, but someday I’d like a family – not a big one, but not a small one either,” she said. “Two kids is good; three is fine. Four? Somebody’s getting something done, because we ain’t having five!”

American Idol winner and country darling Carrie Underwood is getting her own two-hour variety show on Fox.

Underwood, 26, will host Brad Paisley, Dolly Parton and fellow American Idol alum David Cook on her Dec. 7 show, tentatively titled Carrie Underwood: An All-Star Holiday Special.

And while the Underwood show is a one-time event, the broadcast networks are looking to revive the variety format.

The 35th Annual People’s Choice Awards saw “The Dark Knight” pull off a clean sweep, raking in all five awards for which it was nominated. Held at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles, the star-studded affair also saw performer Carrie Underwood grab three awards while Tina Fey, Will Smith, Brad Pitt, Angelina Jolie, Katherine Heigl, Reese Witherspoon, Christina Applegate and Robin Williams all went home winners, as well.

The feud continues!

Jessica Simpson wants everyone to know that her boyfriend, Tony Romo doesn’t call his sweet ex-girlfriend, Carrie Underwood.

How can an insecure girlfriend be sure?

“I looked at his call log,” she said Wednesday in an interview with a Nashville radio station.  Tony should be a little embarrassed that his girlfriend told everyone that she checks his phone.  No guy wants to date a psycho girl.

If you recall, Underwood said September’s Allure magazine: “The phone will ring and it’ll be him, and I’ll maybe not answer.”

“Tony and I both laughed at that,” Simpson said. “We got a chuckle out of it.”

Yeah Jessica, it was SO funny that you had to check his phone.

By the way, I’m sure Tony is smart enough to figure out how to delete an outgoing call. Duh!

And for giggles, I couldn’t help posting this old picture of Jessica and Carrie.  It is from the 2007 CMA Awards in Nashville where Carrie received awards for female vocalist of the year and single of the year.  Jessica was mingling with Carrie at the Sony BMG after-party.  Ha!

If Jessica Simpson doesn’t know that her boyfriend, Tony Romo, still calls his ex-girlfriend, Carrie Underwood, then she is going to be pissed!  Maybe that is the reason why Jessica walks around wearing stuff like this.

About her split with Gossip Girl star Chace Crawford:
“We didn’t have a fight. No one cheated. It plain didn’t work.”

One of her relationships from her days at Oklahoma’s Northeastern State University probably inspired her hit “Before He Cheats.”
“I don’t want to name names, even though he probably deserves it, but he fooled around,” she says. “Oh, yeah – And lied.”

Earlier this month, Jessica Simpson tried to trash boyfriend Tony Romo’s ex-girlfriend and vegetarian Carrie Underwood, by wearing a t-shirt that reads “Real Girls Eat Meat.”  Check it out in the picture above.  Notice how Tony Romo doesn’t exactly address the photogs the way Jessica does.  That’s Tony, practically hiding behind her.

Now, the latest celeb to lash out against Simpson is none other than Pamela Anderson.

Pam was doing a recent radio interview in Australia when she had the opportunity to bash Jess, and she took it.

She says of Jessica, “I think she is a bitch and whore. Actually, I don’t know if she was talking about food or men.”

Pam adds that she’s proud of not eating any meat, adding, “I think it’s healthy, good for your body and good for the environment.”

Ha! Ha! I don’t know why Jessica Simpson is so insecure. Jessica seems to be going all single white female on Carrie Underwood. Carrie Underwood dated Tony Romo. Now Jessica is trying to hang onto him. Carrie Underwood is a hit country singer. So Jessica is trying to be one since her pop and acting careers failed miserably. So Jessica felt the need to trash Carrie on top of all of that? Jeez. Get some self esteem already, Jessica. If you are that insecure, no one will want you.

Carrie Underwood and Chace Crawford have split.

The American Idol winner, 25, and the Gossip Girl star, 22, had been dating since last July, but did not go public with their romance until October.

Underwood had spent Thanksgiving at his parents’ home in Dallas and part of her Christmas break with his relatives.

“She’s a classy girl,” Crawford said about Underwood in October.

Is there another man? For Chace?!

Rumors linking Crawford to buddy JC Chasez sparked Chasez to tell Kiss-FM 104.7 Wednesday, “For the record, we’re both straight. We’re not dating.”

Underwood’s rep was not available for comment; Crawford’s declined to comment.

If Carrie Underwood ever goes missing, then check the trunk of Jessica Simpson’s car.

Country music is one of the few thriving genres in America, and Jessica Simpson, whose last CD bombed, wants a piece of that!

According to new reports, Jess’ daddy/manager, Joe Simpson, proclaims that the ’singer’ is close to completing her first country album and is looking at doing a reality show on CMT.

Jess probably hopes the CMT show will have a ‘Newlywed effect’ on her career…i.e. give her a career again.

The elder Simpson recruited some big names to work on her country album. She duets with Dolly Parton on one track and is joined on another by Willie Nelson.

John Shanks, who’s worked with Sheryl Crow and Kelly Clarkson, and Brett James (Carrie Underwood) are producing.

Could be interesting.

We actually think the reality show idea would be good for Jessica. Coming full circle.
