Joaquin Phoenix Attacks A Heckler in Miami

The Joaquin Phoenix antics are borderline predictable.

The actor rapper took to the stagearound 1:50 a.m. at the Fontainebleau Miami Beach hotel’s nightclub. He wore a messy dark suit and began rapping, which was more like unintelligible mumbling. Phoenix walked to the edge of the right side of the stage and called out a man in the audience whom he thought was heckling him.

“We have a bitch in the audience,” Phoenix announced.

“I’ve got a million fucking dollars in my fucking bank account. What have you got?” he taunted before jumping from the Miami Beach stage and heading for the man.

His brother-in-law, Casey Affleck, who is making a documentary about Phoenix’s career leap from acting to rapping, filmed the entire incident.

It is highly suspect that Casey and Joaquin have ulterior motives and all of these antics are part of an elaborate hoax.

    Joaquin Phoenix Trying To Be A Rapper Is Just A Stunt

    We told you that Joaquin Phoenix has supposedly retired from acting and is ’seriously’ pursuing a new career as a rapper, or so he would like everyone to believe.

    As we suspected, Joaquin’s rap career might just be an elaborate ruse he cooked up with BFF Casey Affleck, according to Entertainment Weekly:

    Either Phoenix is perpetrating an elaborate Andy Kaufman-style hoax (with an assist from his friend and brother-in-law Casey Affleck, who’s ostensibly shooting a documentary about his career transition), or he’s truly lost his marbles. The truth, it seems, is closer to the former. “He said, ‘It’s a put-on. I’m going to pretend to have a meltdown and change careers, and Casey is going to film it,’” says one source who recently worked with Phoenix.

    Earlier this month Joaquin Phoenix and Jamie Foxx were spotted dancing like fools at Miami hot spot LIV with Casey Affleck filming them.

    It turns out that Casey (who is married to Joaquin’s sister, Summer) is shooting a documentary tracking Joaquin’s announced retirement from acting and his attempt to mount a second career as a hip hop star.  Here are the flyers that were circulated for the event.

    Joaquin’s album will be produced by Sean “Diddy” Combs and he made his first public performance Friday night at  Las Vegas club LAVO on Friday night.

    How did it go? Less than spectacular. In fact, it was so bad, we are wondering if Joaquin and Casey are playing a Borat-like prank on us.  Joaquin even falls off of the stage at the end of his performance.
