Charlie Sheen, 44, is checking out of rehab, a rep for the actor says. Sheen plans to resume filming his CBS sitcom Two and a Half Men. Production on the series had been halted for an additional two weeks to accommodate Sheen’s rehab stint.
Sheen announced Feb. 23 that he was admitting himself to an undisclosed rehab facility for “preventative measures.”
Sheen has struggled with addiction before and has had a volatile several months. Last month he was formally charged for the Dec. 25 incident in which he threatened to kill his wife Brooke Sheen; he could face one to three years in prison. Another court date is scheduled for next Monday.
Brooke, 32, is also seeking treatment for her addictions to alcohol and drugs; she recently checked out of The Canyon facility in Malibu for at-home treatment.
Despite public proclamations that they are going to work on saving their marriage, it is being reported that Brooke Mueller wants a divorce from Charlie Sheen.
Also, Brooke has left two different rehab facilities in recent weeks and is supposedly getting rehab treatments at home. Previously, Brooke has been in rehab five other times for her crack and alcohol addictions.
“Brooke wants out. She’s said it before and she’s saying it again right now,” a source close the situation says. “She’s worried though, because Charlie has a lot of dirt on her. Using drugs while raising children is obviously a horrible situation.”
“The marriage is a nightmare,” said the source. “But each one is worried about ways the other one can hurt them. For Charlie, he’s terrified Brooke can help Colorado prosecutors send him to jail. For Brooke, she knows Charlie knows all the dirt about her drug and alcohol use.”
Charlie Sheen, 44, has checked into a rehab.
“As a preventative measure, Charlie Sheen has entered a rehabilitation facility,” his rep says in a statement. “He will take some time off his series Two and a Half Men. He asked that his privacy be honored.”
In a joint statement, CBS, Warner Bros. Television and Two and a Half Men creator Chuck Lorre stay they “support Charlie Sheen in his decision today to begin voluntary in-patient care at a treatment center. We wish him nothing but the best as he deals with this personal matter. Production on Two and a Half Men will be temporarily suspended.”
Meanwhile, Charlie’s wife, Brooke Mueller, 32, checked into rehab herself in early February for a reported crack addiction; she left Malibu’s The Canyon on Monday following a privacy breach.
“Brooke voluntarily chose to leave The Canyon for purposes of privacy,” her rep said. “And immediately checked into an undisclosed facility to diligently continue her treatment.”
It has been a volatile couple months for the Sheen family. On Feb. 8, he was formally charged in an Aspen court for the Dec. 25 incident in which he attacked Brooke and threatened to kill her. He faces one to three years in prison for the felony menacing charge.
It has just been announced that Courtney Thorne-Smith is going to guest star on the CBS show Two And A Half Men.
In a multi-episode arc, she will play Lindsay, a girlfriend for Alan (Jon Cryer) who is a deeply neurotic, recently divorced mother of a rotten 16-year-old boy.
Thorne-Smith, who spent eight seasons on ABC’s “According to Jim,” recently starred in the Lifetime Movie Network film “Sorority Wars.”
Were the producers preparing for Charlie Sheen possibly leaving the show for a while (for rehab or jail time?) by juicing up Cryer’s storyline?
Now that his wife, Brooke Mueller, is in treatment, Charlie Sheen is being pressured into checking into rehab for alcohol addiction.
Charlie is no stranger to addiction and rehab facilities. However, he has started drinking again after years of sobriety. Even so, Charlie doesn’t think he needs to go to rehab!
Charlie even had a sober coach with him over Christmas and we all know how that turned out.
“The reason he had a sober coach with him is because he had already fallen off the wagon,” claims a source. “Many people believe Charlie is simply in denial about his own problems.”
“People close to him have urged him to enter rehab and get help again,” the source continued. “But it just doesn’t look like it’s going to happen.”
Wasn’t the Christmas debacle at the Sheen house enough evidence to justify some time in rehab? What happened wasn’t normal, Charlie and your kids deserve better.
In the past Charlie has openly discussed coming out of rehab and relapsing by starting to consume alcohol again. Now multiple sources have confirmed he has been boozing again but one source very close to him says he is not going into rehab and doesn’t believe he needs rehab.
Slippery slope!
It’s only February and 2010 is shaping up to be a bad year for Charlie Sheen.
We all know about the drama he and wife Brooke Mueller had on Christmas, because of which, Charlie is now facing a felony charge.
His wife is in rehab.
He lost his endorsement deal with Hanes.
And now Charlie’s Mercedes was stolen and then the thieves crashed it at the bottom of a ravine!
Charlie Sheen reported his Mercedes stolen early Friday morning – about the same time the car was found at the bottom of a cliff near the winding Mulholland Drive, Los Angeles police say.
The crashed vehicle was upside down in a steep ravine near the actor’s home in Sherman Oaks, Officer Bruce Borihanh tells the Associated Press. Authorities located the car after a 911 call came in about it at 4 a.m. Friday, approximately the same time Sheen called to say his four-door Mercedes had been stolen, Borihanh says.
It wasn’t clear whether the Two and a Half Men star, 44, knows who took the car, and a suspect was not in custody.
Sheen was not hurt in the incident.
“Charlie was not in the car,” Sheen’s rep Stan Rosenfield says. “Charlie’s fine.” He also said police continue to investigate the case.
The latest result of the new Harris Poll say Oprah Winfrey is America’s favorite television personality, and Glenn Beck is surprising most people with his landing the No. 2 position.
The annual Harris Poll used data collected from 2,276 adults from Dec. 7-14.
Jay Leno, who was No. 1 last year (Winfrey was No. 4), dropped to No. 3. However, representatives from Harris clarified that the poll was conducted before the recent late-night battle. So if the poll was conducted now, Leno might be even lower?

1. Oprah Winfrey
2. Glenn Beck
3. Jay Leno
4. Ellen DeGeneres and Hugh Laurie from House (tie)

7. Charlie Sheen
8. Mark Harmon from NCIS
9. David Letterman
10. Bill O’Reilly

Hanesbrands has ended its advertising campaign featuring Charlie Sheen because of domestic violence charges filed against the actor.
Spokesman Matt Hall said the seriousness of the allegations against the 44-year-old actor made the decision necessary.
“It’s a pretty standard, straightforward call when somebody who’s in your commercials is arrested on suspicion of something of this magnitude,” Hall said. “And we would suspend the ads both for the company and, really, for Mr. Sheen and his family as well. Given the publicity, it makes sense to not air those ads during that time.”
Hall said the television ads were stopped effective Dec. 28, the first business day after Sheen was arrested. He said some print ads will continue to appear into the spring.
“Unfortunately, the production schedule of those publications do not allow us to pull those ads,” Hall said.
His publicist Stan Rosenfield says the actor has no comment on the Hanes decision. Hanes is based in Winston-Salem.
Sheen won’t be resigned when his contract expires in the middle of the year. Sheen has been a pitchman for Hanes for almost two years.

It is being reported that Charlie Sheen’s wife, Brooke Mueller, went to rehab for alcohol abuse while she was pregnant with the couple’s twins.
This adds even more controversy to the already volatile situation surrounding the Sheen marriage. Charlie spent Christmas in a Colorado jail after being arrested on domestic violence charges.
Mueller went to alcohol rehab when she was approximately five months pregnant with the couple’s twins, Bob and Max.
When one of the couple’s twins was born with a heart problem, the couple argued bitterly and Charlie told Brooke the medical problem was her fault for boozing while pregnant!
Mueller has been arrested twice previously, once on an alcohol charge and the other time on a cocaine charge.
Sheen and Mueller both had “sober minders” with them on Christmas, and both consumed alcohol before their physical altercation. Mueller told cops that Sheen held a knife to her throat and threatened to kill her.
“They both have drinking problems,” said a source close to the situation. “And neither of them should be drinking.”
“The marriage has been bad since the beginning,” said one source who knows both Charlie and Brooke. “It was just a matter of time before it exploded publicly.”

Despite the disputethat occurred on Christmas day when Charlie Sheen allegedly held a knife to wife Brooke Mueller’s throat, she is hoping to save their marriage.
Brooke has hired defense layer Yale Galanter, who represented OJ Simpson for many years, just in case prosecutors decide to charge her with making a false report to authorities. Brooke is having Galanter file papers with the Aspen court asking a judge to allow Brooke and Charlie to have contact with each other “so they can work on resolving the conflicts in their marriage.” Her lawyer calls the Christmas incident “one bad night” and that the two still love each other very much.
Galanter says he was hired so that police don’t “overreact” and charge Brooke with lying to the authorities. He says that Brooke didn’t know her husband would be arrested after she called 911 and that she minimized her story, but did not recant.

Charlie Sheen, 44, was arrested on felony domestic violence charges. Sheen was taken into custody at 11:20 a.m. on Christmas Day after police responded to a 911 call at a home in Aspen, Colorado. He was released Friday at 7 p.m. on a $8,500 bond and is due in court on Feb. 8.
Sheen’s wife, Brooke Mueller, told police that her husband threatened her with a knife. One of the two felonies for which Sheen was arrested is felony menacing, meaning a threat involving a deadly weapon. Law enforcement sources say Mueller told cops Charlie was in possession of a knife and threatened her with it.
But Mueller has recanted much of her story … so her credibility has clearly come into serious question. In addition, Mueller was legally drunk with a .13 blood alcohol level when she called 911. Authorities gave both Charlie and Brooke blood alcohol tests. Brooke registered a .13 while Charlie registered a .04. The 911 call came in at 8:34 AM on Christmas morning. Law enforcement sources do say that when cops arrived on scene they observed marks on Mueller’s body, but they do not know if the marks were related to any scuffle with Sheen.
As for Charlie and Brooke’s issues, the “Two and a Half Men” actor has already jetted back to Los Angeles upon being released from jail.
“Charlie went right back to Los Angeles after he was released from jail,” a source says. “Both he and Brooke will undergo counseling and Charlie will get anger management counseling.”
Of the altercation, the insider dishes, “They were fighting at a dinner in a friend’s house and it continued until the next morning. Both of them were drinking and neither was supposed to be. They both have histories of alcohol abuse and have made every effort to stop. But things got out of hand.”
This wouldn’t be the first time Sheen has been part of a domestic altercation. Sheen “accidentally” shot his own fiancee (Kelly Preston, now wed to John Travolta) in 1990.
And while there have been reports of a divorce in the works, Sheen’s lawyer, Richard Cummins, claims that the two will work out their problems, telling, “They have two children together and they love one another and they’re going to work through what is a difficult time and they’re going to do that together and as privately as possible.”
The couple has two children together. Sheen and Mueller welcomed twin son, Max and Bob, this year. Sheen also has two daughters with ex-wife Denise Richards.

Charlie Sheen and wife Brooke Mueller welcomed twin boys on Saturday in Los Angeles. They named the boys Bob and Max.
The children are the first for the couple, who married in May 2008, and the first boys for Charlie.
The “Two And A Half Men” star has three daughters from previous relationships – Sam, 5 and Lola, 3 with ex-wife Denise Richards, and Cassandra, 23 (with ex-girlfriend Paula Profitt).
Congrats!
