First, it was announced that David Duchovny was going to rehab for his sex addiction.

Then, he wanted everyone to think his problem was solely a porn internet addiction (aka “sticky keyboard syndrome”) and that he had always been faithful to his wife, Tea Leoni. 

Now, news has surfaced that he actually did cheat on his wife.  (Duh!)

The NY Daily News reports:

But The National Enquirer reports that Duchovny went into rehab because Leoni “finally caught him [cheating].”
He said Tea gave him an ultimatum: “Get treatment or our marriage is over,” a source told the tab, which is riding high after getting former presidential candidate John Edwards to admit his infidelity.
“At first, Duchovny tried to lie his way out of trouble, but eventually was overwhelmed with guilt and confessed,” The Enquirer contends.
US Weekly concurs that Duchovny, 48, “has a history of indiscretions,” according to “multiple sources.” The mag claims he put the moves on an extra on his Showtime hit, “Californication.” “They ended up making out,” alleges a source. “She later heard this wasn’t the first time he’d taken special interest in an extra.”

Hmm…a history of indiscretions that muliple people can confirm. That would be hard for a marriage to come back from.

When we found out that David Duchovny is entering rehab for a sex addiction, we assumed that he was into good, old fashioned person-to-person sex.

Not so!

Duchovny is addicted to porn.  Internet porn to be exact.  He was doing a lot of surfing and stroking.

XXX Files?!  Ha!  We couldn’t resist.

The source, a friend of Duchovny says he spends countless hours investigating X-rated chat rooms and is now seeking help in rehab for his sex addiction.

The friend was trying to dispel rumors that Duchovny was cheating on wife, actress Tea Leoni. He likened the condition to a gambling or alcohol dependency.

Leoni apparently was aware of her husband’s problem and has been supportive.

She has even cancelled an appearance at the Toronto Film Festival, where her flick “Ghost Town” is to debut, to be by his side.

This is unusual news.

Actor David Duchovny has entered rehab for his sex addiction.

Duchovny, 48, said he did it voluntarily, in a statement released Thursday by his lawyer, Stanton Stein. He added: “I ask for respect and privacy for my wife and children as we deal with this situation as a family.”

Ironically, David plays a sex-obsessed character on Showtime’s “Californication.”

“All of us at Showtime wish David and his family the best during this very private time,” the network said in a statement.

The second season of “Californication” begins Sept. 28.

He and his wife, actress Tea Leoni, have two children. The couple married in 1997.

If David is a sex addict then he likely cheated on his wife, however, it sounds like she is sticking with him for the time being.

We’re not sure what to say about this.  Get well???
