It’s no secret that Drew Barrymore had a very wild childhood and battled drug and alcohol issues and even had a stint in rehab (way before it was common for celebs to do so).
Drew seems to have her life together so that must mean that she completely abstains from her former demons, right?
Wrong!
In a new magazine interview, Drew says, “I’m not (sober) and I don’t claim to be – quite the opposite. I’ve tried to find the balance. I hope it’s balanced.”
Barrymore has always been open about her addictive past – she had her first sip of alcohol when she was 9, began smoking marijuana at the age of 10, and first took cocaine at 12.
According to reports, her mother staged an intervention when Barrymore was a teenager and checked her into the ASAP Family Treatment Center rehab hospital.
The actress quit the facility after only 12 days.
It’s always five o’clock somewhere, right Drew?

Drew Barrymore stepped out for the 61st annual Primetime Emmys at the NOKIA Theatre in Los Angeles last night. She was glowing!
Barrymore, 34, looked beautiful in a blush-hued tulle strapless gown by Monique Lhuillier with a structured bodice and a full skirt with lightly beaded trim. She accessorized with Anna Hu jewels, Raven Kauffman “Drew” clutch and Casadei shoes.
Here’s your first look at Drew Barrymore in Grey Gardens. The movie is a remake of the 1970’s classic which also stars Jessica Lange.
Based on the life stories of the eccentric aunt and first cousin of Jackie Kennedy (both named Edith Bouvier Beale aka “Big and Little Edie”) raised as Park Avenue débutantes but who withdrew from New York society, taking shelter at their Long Island summer home, “Grey Gardens.” As their wealth and contact with the outside world dwindled, so did their grasp on reality. They were reintroduced to the world when international tabloids learned of a health department raid on their home, and Jackie swooped in to save her relatives.

We love Drew Barrymore, but she is barely recognizable on the new cover of W magazine.

Here are all of the ladies at the premiere for He’s Just Not That Into You. From left to right: Drew Barrymore, Jennifer Connelly, Jennifer Aniston, Ginnifer Goodwin, and Scarlett Johansson.
All of the ladies have very different styles and they all look great!
I guess if you are thinking about adopting, Angelina Jolie would be the person to talk to. Drew Barrymore shared her desires for having a child at a Golden Globe afterparty with Angelina.
Drew was heard to say:
‘My biological clock is ticking so loud it sounds like a drum. I want kids so bad, but with no husband prospects around, I am thinking of adopting.’
Angelina was then seen giving Drew her phone number and telling her she’d be happy to help if she does decide to adopt.
Barrymore might also want to talk to Sheryl Crow, who adopted her beautiful son Wyatt.

Drew Barrymore’s hair was a mess at the Globes last night and the color of her dress was icky. It looks like she is taking her upcoming role in Grey Gardens as the eccentric Kennedy cousin, ‘Little’ Edith Bouvier Beale very seriously. She was channeling the look of a wacky Park Avenue débutante.
Nope, you aren’t looking at a picture of Gwen Stefani. That’s Drew Barrymore! The 33-year-old actress now has platinum locks.
Fun Fact: Drew Barrymore has her own production company called Flower Films. She co-founded it in 1995 with Nancy Juvonen, Jimmy Fallon’s wife. Interesting!

For the past couple of years we have seen Drew Barrymore sporting darker locks. However, she recently unveiled a much lighter, bleach blonde hairdo.
Since her public breakup with Justin Long, we haven’t heard much about Barrymore’s love life. Recent rumors have her paired up with How I Met Your Mother star Jason Segal.

What do you think of Drew’s new ‘do?
We think it is cute!

According to Forbes’ second annual ranking of the most (and least) bankable actors in Hollywood, Nicole Kidman’s films earn a mere $1 for every dollar Kidman was paid, compared with $8 in 2007. “The Invasion,” a second remake of the 1956 classic “Invasion of the Body Snatchers,” actually lost $2.68 for every dollar Kidman earned.
To compile the list, they looked at each star’s last three films that opened wide before Jan. 1 (in order to give each film time for a DVD release). They didn’t count animated movies, supporting roles or anyone consistently earning under $5 million per movie.
Here’s the list of overpaid actors/actresses.
1. Nicole Kidman
2. Jennifer Garner
3. Tom Cruise
4. Cameron Diaz
5. Jennifer Lopez
6. Jim Carrey
7. Nicolas Cage
8. Drew Barrymore
9. Will Ferrell
10. Cate Blanchett
I’m rarely surprised when celeb couples call it quits, but this announcement surprised me.
Drew Barrymore and Justin Long have split. The couple had been dating since August 2007. They almost made it a year. However, the two had known each other seven years before they began dating.

Drew Barrymore is donating $1 million of her own money to the United Nations World Food Programme to help feed children in Africa, she announced on Monday’s Oprah.
“I have seen with my own eyes what a difference a simple cup of nutritious porridge can make in a child’s life,” Barrymore, 33, said. “It helps them learn, stay healthy and sets them on track for a bright future.”
The actress got involved with the charity in 2005, and became an Ambassador Against Hunger last year. She’s traveled twice to Kenya with the group.
“We have a dream…to feed another 10 million hungry school children in Africa by Thanksgiving Day,” added the organization’s Executive Director, Josette Sheeran, who was also on the show.
Drew Barrymore has a big heart!
