It’s smooth sailing for Ellen DeGeneres and fiancée Portia de Rossi during a day of kayaking on the island of Capri. The two are reportedly getting married this summer.

John McCain was on Ellen today and the two conversed about their different views of gay marriage. We totally agree with Ellen!!!

The California Supreme Court took a stance for equality on Thursday. By overturning the archaic ban on gay marriage, the judges reaffirmed their belief that all residents of this great state should be treated the same under the law.

Ellen made the annoucement on her Friday show, which also details her fabulous 50th birthday party. Ellen says: “I’m thrilled that the California supreme court overturned the ban on gay marriage. I can’t wait to get married. We all deserve the same rights, and I believe that someday we’ll look back on this and not allowing gays to marry will seem as absurd as not allowing women to vote.”

De Rossi, 35, was in the studio — and the crowd went wild applauding before giving the pair a standing ovation.

The two stars began dating in December 2004, as de Rossi was appearing on the FOX sitcom Arrested Development.

Remember when she was Ellen DeGeneres’ girlfriend?

Anne Heche says she can no longer afford to pay the nearly $15,000-a-month in child and spousal support because she’s unemployed after the cancellation of Men In Trees. Her personal life is always filled with drama.

“I am continuing to look for work, but I have no offers pending and the impending strike by the Screen Actors Guild reduces my prospects for work even further,” Heche, 38, writes in court papers.

A judge Wednesday gave her a temporary break, saying she didn’t have to pay her next support payment to her ex Coley Laffoon, 34, covering the month of July. But Superior Court Judge Gail Ruderman Feuer ordered the actress to provide updated income and expense information.

In a court declaration, Heche indicated her financial straits were dire and that she can no longer afford to pay the $14,798 in monthly support, along with private school tuition for her 6-year-old son Homer, the mortgage on her house in Canada where Men In Trees filmed, rent on her Los Angeles home and car expenses.

“Since January 18, 2008, I have been unemployed and had no income from employment except for one very short-term contract for a movie role for which I received a total of $65,000, approximately the amount I received for one episode of Men In Trees, she writes.

I can’t believe Ellen DeGeneres is 50!

Ellen had a big birthday bash on Saturday night to celebrate her 50th birthday.  Her party was on Warner Bros. lot.  No press were allowed, but she will be showing some clips from her birthday on her show.

Ellen knows how to party and invited about 600 friends! Among well-wishers were newlyweds Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon, Janet Jackson, theJonas Brothers, Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson, Allison Janney, T.R. Knight, Ray Romano, Joely Fisher, Gwen Stefani and Gavin Rossdale, Paris and Nicky Hilton with their boyfriends Benji Madden and David Katzenberg and, of course, DeGeneres’ girlfriend, Portia de Rossi.

Pink performed three acoustic numbers, including Janis Joplin’s “Me and Bobby McGee,” Samantha Ronson (Lindsay Lohan’s rumored girlfriend) deejayed and there was a fireworks display. The menu included sushi from Sushi Roku, Pinkberry and Fry Girl doughnuts.

The beautiful Aussie singer, 39, told Ellen DeGeneres yesterday that her first physician failed to diagnose her with the disease.

“Because someone is in a white coat and using big medical instruments doesn’t necessarily mean they’re right,” Kylie said.

After touring briefly, she said she decided to get another check-up after hearing stories from other women about being misdiagnosed.

“I don’t want to say that to frighten people but that’s just a fact,” Kylie said. (We agree!)

In a press release today, FOX announced that Ellen DeGeneres would again be taking on co-hosting duties with Ryan Seacrest for the 2nd “Idol Gives Back” special, airing Wednesday April 9 7:30 - 10:30 pm ET. Just like last year, Ellen will host from the Kodak Theatre while Ryan covers from the American Idol stage.

The talent roster continues to expand as well. The complete list (so far) now includes Maroon 5, Heart, Gloria Estefan, Boyz II Men and The Clark Brothers along with already announced Bono, Brad Pitt, Reese Witherspoon, Miley Cyrus, Mariah Carey, Eli Manning, Peyton Manning, Fergie, Chris Daughtry, Carrie Underwood, Annie Lennox, John Legend and Snoop Dogg. Most of these will be the pre-recorded “Give, give, give” messages to the audience.
