In a new interview with Vanity Fair, Ryan O’Neal cops to accidentally hitting on his own daughter Tatum O’Neal while loading Farrah Fawcett’s dead body into hearse.

“I had just put the casket in the hearse and I was watching it drive away when a beautiful blonde woman comes up and embraces me,” Ryan says. “I said to her, ‘You have a drink on you? You have a car?’ She said, ‘Daddy, it’s me–Tatum!’ I was just trying to be funny with a strange Swedish woman, and it’s my daughter. It’s so sick.”
“That’s our relationship in a nutshell,” Tatum said when asked her about it. “You make of it what you will.” She sighed. “It had been a few years since we’d seen each other, and he was always a ladies’ man, a bon vivant.”

That’s so sick on so many levels.

Ryan O’Neal is speaking out for the first time since Farrah Fawcett’s June 25 death in a new television interview with Today’s Meredith Vieira.

In the interview on NBC, O’Neal, 68, opens up to Vieira about his final moments with Fawcett, who died at age 62 after battling anal cancer.

“[Doctors] thought that she would live just another couple of hours, and she lived a couple of days,” O’Neal says of his longtime love, who spent her last days at St. John’s Hospital in Santa Monica, Calif. “So I had a bed put in the room for me. And I just lay by her side. She wouldn’t — move on. She wouldn’t pass.”

In her dying moments, “[Farrah] just looked at us with a slight smile,” O’Neal says, “and then all the machines flat lined. She was gone.”

So sad.

Farrah Fawcett passed away this morning at 9:28 am PST at age 62. Fawcett had been bravely battling anal cancer for several years.

Fawcett died at St. John’s Heath Center in Santa Monica, Calif.; she was with longtime partner Ryan O’Neal, friend Alana Stewart, friend and hairdresser Mela Murphy and her doctor Lawrence Piro. She had recently returned to St. John’s for treatment of complications from anal cancer, first diagnosed three years ago.

In our hearts and minds, though, she lives on forever and will be remembered in that iconic swimsuit flashing that mega-watt smile.

Our condolences to her family and friends and everyone who was touched by her work, her life and her spirit.

“She’s gone. She now belongs to the ages. She’s now with he mother and sister and her God. I loved her with all my heart. I will miss her so very, very much. She was in and out of consciousness. I talked to her all through the night. I told her how very much I loved her. She’s in a better place now.”

O’Neal says that Farrah was surrounded by her many doctors and close friends when she passed away. He says, “She was with her team when she passed … Her eyes were open, but she didn’t say anything. But you could see in her eyes that she recognized us.”

Though O’Neal recently said that he and Fawcett had planned to wed, they did not tie the knot. “There just wasn’t time, and Farrah wasn’t in any condition to do it,” says O’Neal.

Ryan says a funeral service will be held at the downtown Catholic cathedral in Los Angeles in the next few days.

Melissa Joan Hart (seen above at the opening of a candy and ice cream store) was overheard saying something really nasty and distasteful last week.

The former “Sabrina the Teenage Witch” star was overheard off-camera at KTLA in Los Angeles on Friday saying how she’d been hoping last week that cancer-stricken Farrah Fawcett wouldn’t die — and thus bump Hart off the cover of People magazine. Hart is on this week’s cover posing in a bikini after recently losing 42 pounds.

There are no words…

Is it ironic that a woman who is getting attention for losing weight is at the opening of a candy and ice cream store???

Farrah Fawcett’s 91-year-old father, James, is flying into Los Angeles to say goodbye to her.

Farrah’s condition has gotten worse. She is battling anal cancer that spread and metastasized to her liver, according to her doctor’s statements.

And while her doctor and some friends have recently made public statements indicating that her condition has not changed, Ryan O’Neal revealed in an interview today that her “treatment” has pretty much ended. He also said she stays in bed now and is on IVs.

Farrah’s father will be in Los Angeles this week to say his final farewell. A priest visited the house recently.

And while Ryan says that son Redmonddoesn’t know the truth about his mother, other sources say that he does know the truth and he is distraught. He has been behind bars since a recent arreste for heroin possession. He is being diverted into a drug treatment facility. In open court he said Farrah weighs 86 pounds.

So sad.
