At $48.6 million, Paul McCartney’s divorce from Heather Mills was pricey, but others in entertainment have paid more. Here’s a look at some of the most expensive celebrity splits:

Heather Mills dumped water over the head of Paul McCartney’s divorce lawyer yesterday during the court hearing that awarded Heather $48.6 million. Mills loves negative attention, doesn’t she?
The battle royale of celebrity divorces may be over, and despite Heather Mills’ appeal to keep the judge from releasing court reports, the details are now out!
Here are some of the juicy highlights:
- The judge called Heather “‘inaccurate, inconsistent and less than candid.” (That’s no surprise!)
- Heather claimed that she resurrected Paul McCartney’s career because she gave him the light and confidence to go on. (Heather thinks she “resurrected” the career of a Beatle. How delusional!)
- Heather also requested $1 million for vacations. (WTF? Who does she think she is?)
- Heather supposedly bugged conversations between Sir Paul and his daughter, fashion designer daughter Stella. (So is that how the press got hold of the purportedly shitty things Stella McCartney said about Heather? Heather is so shady!)
No wonder Mills wanted to keep things under wraps!
Other revelations in the judgment:
Speaking on the steps of the High Court in London Monday, Heather Mills declared herself “so, so happy” with her nearly $50 million divorce settlement from Paul McCartney.
The 40-year-old ex-wife of the former Beatle said she was “just glad it was over,” referring to the long-running and often acrimonious split.
McCartney, 65, upon exiting the court in an indifferent mood, merely said to waiting reporters, “All will be revealed.”
Mills explained: “I am standing here because Paul is insistent on the whole judgment being put out. I’ve said that if the whole judgment goes out then all the transcripts have to go out because it’s going to be written in a way that they will try and make it that I wasn’t successful.”
The summary states that the judge decided McCartney should pay Mills a lump sum of around $33 million, which together with existing assets of around $15 million means she will gain a divorce totaling nearly $50 million. The judge deemed that she had overspent during nearly two years of separation by $1 million. (Maybe those gold digger allegations were correct!)
Paul McCartney is worth over a billion dollars. $33 million isn’t that much to him.
A provision for daughter Beatrice consisting of periodical $70,000 payments was included, and McCartney has agreed to pay for her nanny and school fees.
And here is exactly why people can’t stand Heather Mills:
Of the provision, Mills said, “Beatrice only gets $70,000 a year so she is obviously meant to travel B class while her father travels A class. But obviously I will pay for that.”
Everything she “pays” for is McCartney’s money anyway! McCartney takes very good care of his children. For Mills to act as though Beatrice is being slighted in this situation is ridiculous!
