Since Reese Witherspoon, 33, broke up with Jake Gyllenhaal after three years of dating, she’s been on some dates with Hollywood agent Jim Toth.

The pair shared an intimate dinner Wednesday night at the low-key Pace restaurant in L.A.’s Laurel Canyon. Witherspoon and Toth, 39, settled into their table for a late meal and some alone time – but kept it PG-rated.

“There was no major PDA,” says a source.

Another eyewitness says the couple seemed at ease together when they left the restaurant. “Reese looked very cute and casual in jeans with black boots. She was in the best mood ever and would not stop laughing,” says the observer. “It was very obvious that Reese likes Jim and the two had great energy together.”

When they got into his car, “Jim seemed protective of Reese and made sure that she got into the passenger seat safely,” adds the observer. “They kept laughing as they drove [away].”

Friends say Jim is ready to settle down but is not placing any pressure on Reese as he knows she’s recently come out of a serious relationship.

One said: “He’s reassessed his life. He suffered a loss last year -the death of his father – and Jim feels it’s time to settle down. He’s definitely grown up from his younger days as a cocky agent.”

A friend of Toth’s says the dinner had been ‘a date’, but added it was ‘nothing serious’.

Although their reps have been denying the rumors, it seems that Reese Witherspoon and Jake Gyllenhaal have indeed broken up.

Sources confirm that the two decided to end their relationship about two weeks ago. People magazine actually reported the split back then, but reps for both stars insisted they were still very much in love. However, their reps are not commenting this time around.

Don’t expect the couple to discuss any details either. Gyllenhaal, who will turn 29 on Saturday, and Witherspoon, 33, never talked publicly about their romance.

So what happened?

“They needed time to figure it out and they were on different coasts,” a source says. “When they were finally together, they talked it out and decided they’re not going to be together anymore.”

Sources say the split is completely amicable.

“There are no other people involved,” the source said. “The relationship just ended. It just fizzled. But they also wanted to be careful and private about it because of Reese’s kids.”

Reese Witherspoon filmed her new movie “How Do You Know?” into the wee hours of Wednesday morning and she got an on-set visit from boyfriend Jake Gyllenhaal.

The visit comes amidst rumors that Witherspoon is getting eager to tie the knot with her “Brokeback Mountain” beau – as she’s said to have already picked out her wedding dress.

“Reese has picked out the gown she’s going to wear when she and Jake finally get married,” a source revealed. “It’s an unconventional color just like Gwen Stefani’s, and her daughter, Ava, will wear an identical dress.”

Maggie Gyllenhaal and Peter Sarsgaard married over the weekend.

“We are happy to confirm that Maggie and Peter were married on Saturday, May 2,” her rep confirmed.

Gyllenhaal, 31, and Sarsgaard, 38, wed in a small chapel at luxury hotel Masseria in Brindisi near Rome, Italy. Maggie’s brother, Jake Gyllenhaal, and his girlfriend, Reese Witherspoon attended.

Gyllenhaal has dated Sarsgaard, a close friend of Jake’s, for seven years.

The couple has a daughter Ramona, 2, and they live in Brooklyn, New York.

Reese Witherspoon is on the cover of the April 2009 edition of Elle magazine. In her interview with the mag, Reese talks about her boyfriend, Jake Gyllenhaal, and her 2005 divirce to Ryan Phillippe.

About her divorce:
Witherspoon, 32, says the divorce was “very humiliating and very isolating. But, by the way, if it’s not painful, maybe it wasn’t the right decision to marry to begin with. Those are the appropriate emotions.”

“When people get in your face and say, ‘This will pass,’ you think, Are they crazy?” Witherspoon goes on. “I’m never gonna feel any better than I feel right this minute and nothing’s ever gonna make sense again. And I still have moments where I’m like, Nothing’s ever gonna make sense again.”

The actress — who has two children, Ava, 8, and Deacon, 4, with Phillippe — says she tried to avoid the “blame game” with her ex.

“It’s a really easy thing to do, and I’m certainly guilty of it,” she admits. “[You have to] look at yourself and go, ‘What part of this do I need to own? Which part of this is my responsibility? And that’s the painful work that you have to go through to hopefully get some real life knowledge out of it.”

About her boyfriend:
She is now dating Jake Gyllenhaal, whom she met on the set of their 2007 drama, Rendition.

“He’s fabulous. He really is a fantastic guy,” says the star, who voices a toon in the animated flick Monsters vs. Aliens (out March 27). “Unfortunately, he’s not in the movie, so we can’t really talk about him.”

On being a young mother:
“When I first had Ava, I couldn’t afford [help]. And it was so hard,” she says. “I was out in Los Angeles, living [away from my family]. I really didn’t have any friends. And I had a baby. No one else who was 22 had a baby. I couldn’t go out.”

On the public’s perception that Reese is a control freak:

“I don’t think I’m a control freak,” she says. “I think I’m just fearful. I operate from a lot of fear, like, of things being lost or forgotten or neglected. Losing the spiritual rather than the physical.”

“It’s so funny to me that somehow I’ve been portrayed as a very, like, closed-off or uptight person,” she adds. “I’m very open.”

She’s especially open when it comes to food.

“I’m made of cookies after the holidays,” says Witherspoon, who denies she is diet obsessed. “Everything inside me is made of sugar and flour and a little red wine – a lot of red wine.”

Jake Gyllenhaal is always working on his fitness. Long gone are the days of skinny teen heartthrob for Jakey. He is quite the beefcake now!  Wearing New Balance shoes, Nike shorts, and an Adidas shirt and beanie, Jake went for a job with his personal trainer. 

Jake is currently gearing up for a big TV appearance on Sunday night (January 11), during which time he’s tapped as a presenter at the Golden Globes.

He will look great in a tux!

Cute couple Jake Gyllenhaal and Reese Witherspoon were at the Staples Center as the Los Angeles Lakers took on the Portland Trail Blazers on Sunday night. The Lakers ended up victorious over the Trailblazers, beating them handily 100-86.

We really like these two together.  They seem like a good match.

Who knew that celeb couple Reese Witherspoon and Jake Gyllenhaal were friends with Robert Downey Jr and his wife???

The power couples went hiking in the trails of Ojai. The ladies stuck together side-by-side and Jake and Robert were particularly friendly and engaged as they walked next to one another.

After the hike, both couples went back to Reese’s Ojai home. The Downey’s had dinner and spent the night. The next day, the Downeys took Reese and Jake for a spin in Robert’s Bentley to get some coffee before heading back and saying their goodbyes.

Jake Gyllenhaal has proposed to Reese Witherspoon three times. And she’s said no to all three proposals!

It seems that Reese is really not ready to be married again.

27-year-old Jake first popped the question — with a diamond ring, even — on March 22, Reese’s 32nd birthday. He tried again in July and mid-October when she visited him in London, where he’s been filming Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time. The next time, Reese will have to do the asking.

Jake feels he’s found the love of his life, and he can’t understand why Reese won’t take that step with him.

Witherspoon ended her eight-year marriage to Ryan Phillippe with divorce on Oct. 5 last year. Phillippe cheating on Reese supposedly caused the demise of the marriage.

Poor Jake! But Reese shouldn’t marry again until she is ready. We really like these two together. Let’s hope it lasts!

Has Jake been working out or what?! He’s quite beefy and we like it.

She looks like she is keeping a close eye on her beefcake.  Fine by us!  I like these two together.  Remember when he was serious with Kirsten Dunst and she was married to Ryan Phillippe?  Nothing against their exes, but Reese and Jake make much better sense together.

It seems that Ryan Phillippe and Abbie Cornish are getting more comfortable taking their romance public.

Phillippe, 33 — who recently finalized his divorce from ex Reese Witherspoon — has been spending lots of time with Cornish, 25, at his new $7 million, five-bedroom pad in the Hollywood Hills. He probably got a huge settlement in the divorce.

Their fling was partially to blame for the end of Phillippe’s marriage to Witherspoon, 32. Phillippe and Cornish wrapped their arms around each other at a summer barbecue in Los Angeles Saturday night.

“Ryan definitely has a thing for her, and things are always good when they’re together,” a source says.

Said a witness, “They seemed really into each other … he was all over her.”

“After the divorce, I was a physical wreck. I wanted to die,” Phillippe has admitted. “I was ready to kill myself.”

I’m not sure how sincere Phillippe is.  Maybe he did feel that terrible, but he was also the one who had the affair in the first place.

Reese Witherspoon and boyfriend Jake Gyllenhaal have recently moved in together.

I think Jake is probably a much better match for Reese anyway.  It just makes more sense to me that they are together.  I guess things always have a way of working themselves out in the end.

It looks like Jake Gyllenhaal and Reese Witherspoonare taking their relationship to the next level by moving in together.  I kind of assumed they were co-habitating already, just unofficially.  As in, they both have homes of their own, but are always together.  Anyway, I really like these two together.
