Tom Cruise, 47, and Katie Holmes, 30, were spotted taking a walk in Boston, Massachusetts yesterday looking happy together as they shared a romantic walk. The couple is in Boston while Tom films a movie with Cameron Diaz. Holmes will be working again soon though.

Katie has just signed on to replace Liv Tyler as the female lead in the upcoming adaptation of Galt Niederhoffer novel “The Romantics.”

Ms. Holmes joins an already-stellar cast including Anna Paquin, Josh Duhamel, Malin Akerman, Elijah Wood, and Adam Brody. Holmes will also be an executive producer of the project. The movie is about eight friends who reunite for a wedding of two buddies as tension unfolds between the bride and maid of honor over the groom.

The movie starts filming this week in New York. Katie, 30, will play Laura, the maid of honor to Anna Paquin’s Lila, who’s the bride.

Laura and Lila are best friends who both have a past with the groom played by Transformers hunk Josh.

It seems that Tom Cruise does fashion patrol on wife Katie Holmes‘ wardrobe.

In the November issue of Elle, the actress, 30, says Cruise, 47, often critiques her clothes.

“He usually likes everything, but sometimes I’ll walk out and he’ll say, ‘I think that dress might be wearing you. You don’t need that,’” she says.

Katie likes the help.

“Tom has great taste,” Holmes gushes.

As far as her own personal fashion style goes, Katie says, “I love Alaïa, for sure. Stella McCartney. I like Ralph Lauren because I feel like it’s very American, and I’m pretty all-American, from Ohio. Isabel Marant and a new designer, Sari Gueron.”

So that’s why these two always look so good! It takes hard work, like exercise. Katie Holmes and Tom Cruise were spotted jogging together on the streets of Boston, Massachusetts.

The power couple are in town while Cruise films his latest movie “Wichita,” also starring Cameron Diaz and scheduled to hit theaters July 2, 2010.

Katie Holmes is rarely unescorted to public events, but she attended the Independent Filmmaker Project’s 30th Anniversary in New York City without husband, Tom Cruise. Katie was the host for the event.

Katie looked very chic in an Alexander McQueen satin halter neck and pants combo teamed with Givenchy sandals.

Katie has been filming The Extra Man, a film about a failed playwright, played by Kevin Kline, working as an escort for rich widows in New York.

The brother-in-law of Katie Holmes has passed away.

Joseph Jeffrey Fretti, 48, the husband of Katie’s older sister, Tamera, died of unknown causes, although initial reports were claiming it was heart failure. He died April 12 after being found unconscious in his parents’ home in Sarasota, Florida.

Police arrived at the scene at 7:53 p.m. that Sunday after a 911 call. Fretti was unconscious and deemed to be in cardiac and respiratory arrest. An hour later, he was pronounced dead at The Doctor’s Hospital in Sarasota. An autopsy was not conclusive as to a cause of death. “We’re still investigating,” says Dr. Russell Vega of the Florida District 12 Medical Examiner’s Office. “There is no indication of foul play.”

Fretti was separated from Holmes’s older sister Tamera, 41, who filed for divorce on Feb. 13. Tamera had recently been granted temporary custody of the couple’s children, ages 10 and 6. The couple had been married since 1995. Fretti’s funeral is expected to take place in his hometown of Toledo, Ohio, where he happened to be a funeral director.

That is really sad news, especially for the children. Our thoughts go out to them.

Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes‘ little girl Suri will be starting school soon.

Suri will reportedly be going to New Village Academy in Los Angeles, which was the school started by Will and Jada Pinkett Smith, who are very close friends of Tom. Suri will receive a Scientology certified education. The school is staffed by trained Scientologists and lists “study technology” as a key curricular focus. Tuition costs about $8400 a year to attend.

Suri will begin classes after her 3rd birthday on April 18 and will be attending school five days a week.

A source says, “The children have a lot of responsibilities from a very young age. The school is particularly strict about nutrition, demanding a low-carb, low-sodium and low-sugar organic diet. Katie is understandably a little anxious about being separated from Suri.”

Katie has apparently just finished the Purification Rundown diet, which designed to eliminate toxic substances from the body. Rumor is she did this to prepare her for a second child. Sources say when she’s done filming in NYC, she will return to L.A. at the end of May to start working on that second baby with Tom.

Victoria Beckham is alone in the states while her husband, David Beckham, is playing soccer in Italy. Victoria went out on a dinner date with her gal pal Katie Holmes. The duo had a sushi meal at Nobu.

Those two ladies are both so thin, I have a feeling very little eating was done at the posh restaurant.

That is great, but what about Zahara??? We’re guessing Z was probably invited too, but OK! was too dick to put her on the cover too. All three girls are about the same age. Suri and Shiloh were born a month apart in April and May 2006 respectively, while Zahara is a year older and will turn four in July.

“Katie loves entertaining and spoke to Angelina about having an at-home tea party with cupcakes for the girls,” a friend of Katie’s tells OK!. “It’s something she has wanted to do for ages.”

The two women are said to have chatted about the idea at a Golden Globes afterparty back in January after being introduced by their men Tom Cruise and Brad Pitt, who co-starred in 1994’s Interview with a Vampire.

Katie Holmes was chosen to be the covergirl for the April 2009 edition of Glamour magazine. The issue marks Glamour’s 70th anniversary.

Here are highlights from Katie’s interview with the mag.

She wanted to marry Tom Cruise before she was famous.

“When Top Gun came out, my sisters were like, ‘Oh, my God, Top Gun! Tom Cruise!’” Holmes says. “And I very confidently said, ‘I’m going to marry him one day.’ It wasn’t like, How do I get to Tom Cruise? It was just: I think I’m going to marry him. Why not? He’ll like me. I’m fun.”

It was love at first sight.

After having a business meeting in 2005, she says, “We both knew.”As their third wedding anniversary approaches, she says they want to spend it “in Rome, where we got married. It was one of the first places we went together.”

On their relatioshiip and the age difference.

Says Holmes, “From an early age I knew that I wanted to be in this business. So I did everything I could to get here, and when I met Tom, I knew in an instant that we were going to be together, that we were going to get married. He does have a very big life. And you know, we just do it. And, as a woman, you make that transition from being single to [being] a partner. I have a teammate, and it’s like, we’re going to make this work.”She says their 16-year age difference “was never a concern. I know one would think, Now, how is that? But really, we both like to work, we both like our families. It’s being there, being supportive, being an ear. It’s not so much, ‘Do you think I should do this?’ It’s ‘What do you think of it?’”

An average day for the Cruises.

“We’re all together. We like to be together, so we use the house for our [business] meetings,” Holmes says. “[We] play Yahtzee, board games, Scrabble. We grill; have pool parties. We play ‘The Three Little Pigs’ and Suri is the Big Bad Wolf. [Tom] reads storybooks to Suri, and we all laugh. When a good song comes on, he’ll break out in a dance. We’ll watch movies in bed — recently Madagascar and Cinderella, for Suri. We really have a good time.”

On Suri and those other rumors.

“During the first couple of days [with Suri], we would just sleep right next to her to make sure she was breathing,” she tells April’s Glamour. “And I was constantly learning on the job, but Tom [Cruise] was very helpful and supportive.”She says it was tough when people began spreading rumors about Suri — including one that she didn’t exist at all — after Holmes gave birth in 2006.“Some of the stuff [people said] was such absolutely horrible things to say about a child,” she says. “It was so uncalled for and so disgusting. Enough is enough.”Cruise told her not to worry about it.“We were changing diapers. He said, ‘I don’t want you to get upset,’” Holmes says. “And I said, ‘Well, I am upset.’”

“So we approached it together,” she goes on. “But I definitely felt like — as a woman, as the mother of Suri — I want to handle this! My mom is very strong, and if anyone ever said anything about any of us, she would be, ‘Excuse me? That’s my family!’”

She adds that she sees “glimpses of Tom and me” in Suri.

“She’s really such a special girl — strong and funny,” Holmes says. “She’s her own person. She has a great sense of humor.”

Holmes — who also says, “I’m not pregnant right now” — tells Glamour her family life is normal.

Asked what she wants to say to the people who spread bizarre rumors, Holmes remarks, “Sometimes I think I would say, ‘Why don’t you come over and have dinner? See what there is to see.’”

Tom Cruise, Katie Holmes and their 2-year-old daughter Suri enjoyed a nice family vacation over the weekend in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

After spotting the three on the beach, a small small crowd gathered around them.

Cruise was in a festive mood, taking photos with several locals.

Suri was also spotted collecting sea shells buried in the sand with some local children.

The family fun continued Sunday when the three took a helicopter ride in Rio de Janeiro.

The Cruise clan — who arrived at the Copacabana Palace Hotel in Rio de Janeiro — are in South America to promote Tom’s new film Valkyrie, which premieres in Brazil on Tuesday.

After spending some time on Broadway, Katie Holmes is gearing up to return to the silver screen. But Katie isn’t returning to Los Angeles – the movie has her staying in New York.

Katie Holmes, Paul Dano, Kevin Kline, and John C. Reilly have signed on to stary in “The Extra Man,” the independent comedy based on Jonathan Ames’ overlooked novel about a failed playwright who decides to work as an escort for wealthy widows.

Holmes’ last big screen appearance was in the 2008 comedy “Mad Money,” alongside Queen Latifah and Diane Keaton.
