Madonna is putting her shoes where her mouth is.
The Queen of Pop has offered one of her favorite pairs of Christian Dior shoes to a charity supporting Gypsy child education. Organizers said Tuesday the skyscraper gold heels, which are autographed by Madonna, will be sold at the Ovidiu Rom annual ball later this month.
Madonna drew international attention by saying during an August concert in Bucharest on her “Sticky & Sweet’” tour that widespread discrimination against East Europe’s Gypsies, also known as Roma, should end.
Thousands of fans responded by booing her.
“Madonna’s very mild comment regarding equality shone a spotlight on a common European attitude toward Gypsies,” Leslie Hawke, president of Ovidiu Rom, told The Associated Press. “We’re thrilled to have her donation because she is such an icon of innovation and vigor and ‘can do’ spirit.”
Hawke’s son, actor Ethan Hawke, will attend the ball and speak to guests.
Guests at the ball will make donations to win raffle tickets for the auction of donated prizes. This year’s items also will include a gold chain provided by actress Vanessa Redgrave.

Madonna has been celebrating her 51st birthday in Portofino, Italy.
And, yes, you are reading that right. Madonna, a woman with a couple of hundred million dollars is wearing a shirt with her name on it. It speaks to both her huge ego and bad taste in clothing.
After she jumped into the water, Madonna thought the sun’s rays were too harsh so she had an assistant jump into the water and bring an umbrella to her. We wonder what she would have requested if the water had been too cold for her liking.
In London on Saturday night at the O2 Arena, the same venue where Michael Jackson was scheduled to perform a series of 50 concerts, Madonna paid tribute to the King of Pop.

Madonna gives her newly adopted daughter Mercy James, 4, a piggyback ride after attending services at London’s Kabbalah center. The girl, who arrived from Malawi last week, wears a bright African-print sun dress and a red Kabbalah string around her left wrist.
Madonna is sparing no expense to make sure that her newly adopted daughter, Mercy, lives a life of luxury. This includes having Madonna’s friend, Gwyneth Paltrow decorating the little girl’s room.
Madonna was finally given permission to adopt four-year-old Mercy last week, and the Malawian tot is expected to join the family in New York in the next few days.
Madge is currently renovating her $40 million New York townhouse and has a huge shopping wishlist to fill Mercy’s new room. It includes porcelain dolls, antique teddy bears, a library of leather-bound children’s books and ancient maps of Africa to adorn the walls.
A source revealed: “Madge wants Mercy to feel like a little princess when she arrives.”
“Gwyneth has a home in the Hamptons area of New York and Madonna was so impressed with her daughter Apple’s room that she asked Gwyneth to help her decorate Mercy’s new bedroom.”
“As well as all the items inside, she’s also commissioned a mini Georgian-style treehouse for Mercy and David in her garden.”
“She’s been filling Mercy’s wardrobe at the same time.”
“She’s stocked up on cashmere sweaters, dresses and silk tunics and has had a new charm bracelet made for her.”
“It features a miniature bell, a Statue of Liberty, a map of Africa and lockets with photos of everyone in her new family.”
And it is not just Madonna who is planning to spoil Mercy.
Madonna’s daughter girl, Lourdes, has been on a spree, too.
The source added: “Lourdes is beside herself with excitement about her new sister.”
“She’s really looking forward to having a little girl in the house she can care for. She’s bought piles of leggings, hipster T-shirts, tutus and trainers for the new arrival.”
Hey Madonna! You can adopt me too!

Kate Hudson has mostly recently been messing around with Madonna’s ex, A-Rod.
Kate reportedly hid from Madonna when the two attended the Veuve Clicquot’s Manhattan Polo Classic on Saturday.
“Kate was completely intimidated by Madonna,” said one guest. “She clearly didn’t want trouble and decided to keep a low profile for the rest of the match.” Said a second guest, “I didn’t even see Kate Hudson again after Madonna arrived. She ran away! But if I were dating Madonna’s ex, I’d be scared, too!”
While Hudson hung out in the back of the tent, Madonna rocked her royal status. After showing up in a black Mercedes-Benz with several NYPD escorts, she held court with boy toy Jesus Luz, her kids Rocco Ritchie and David Banda, as well as pals Marc Jacobs, Lorenzo Martone and photographer Steven Klein.
“Madonna literally didn’t care,” said a third eyewitness.
“She showed up with no makeup, a dowdy [denim] outfit and her hair pulled up in a ponytail. She doesn’t need to compete with Kate, because she will always be Queen Bee.”

50-year-old Madonna walked the red carpet of New York’s Metropolitan Museum of Art Costume Institute Gala event Monday night.
We love Madonna, but it makes us sad to see her trying so desperately to be young. She is so great at reinventing herself, but being 50 and trying to look 18 just doesn’t impress us. Madonna could change the face of what 50 looks like without embarrassing herself like this.

What a guy!
Ex-husband Guy Ritchie was waiting for Madonna at an airport when she arrived back in England yesterday. A judge ruled on Friday that Madonna would not be permitted to adopt young Mercy Jones, citing a law that adoptive parents must reside in Malawi for an 18- to 24-month assessment period. Madonna has appealed the decision.
“I fully supported Madonna in her decision to apply for this adoption, and I am saddened that her application has been rejected,” said Ritchie, who divorced Madonna last November after eight years of marriage. “She is motivated only by being a caring parent who seeks to share some of the advantages and opportunities that her life has given her.”
Guy and Madonna share custody of son Rocco, 8, and David Banda, 3, who was adopted from Malawi in 2006. Of Madonna’s parenting skills, Guy said: “Madonna is a fantastic and loving mother who cares deeply about her own children, and children who may need additional help and support.”
Saturday Night Live had some fun during the Weekend Update with Seth Meyers talking about Madonna’s adoption. Angelina Jolie stopped in to talk about her love of babies too!
Despite having the support of the Malawian government and welfare minister, Madonna’s attempt to adopt four-year-old girl Mercy was shot down this morning in court. Turns out the pop singer is subject to residency requirements this time.
A judge who did not make the ruling but saw it and another lawyer present when the ruling was made said Madonna was rejected because of residency rules. Both spoke on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to discuss the case.
Malawi adoption regulations require that prospective parents live in the southern African nation for at least 18 months.
The residency rule was waived in 2006, when Madonna was allowed to take her adopted son, David, to London before his adoption was finalized in 2008. It was not clear why Judge Esme Chombo ruled differently Friday. Another judge had handled Madonna’s previous adoption case.
Yes, there were two different judges, but why was Madonna allowed to adopt David then? She has never lived in Malawi. Hmm…interesting. Madonna has the option to appeal the decision, but it is currently unknown if she will choose to exercise that option.

Madonna is back in Malawi trying to adopt a 4-year-old girl. The adoption has been delayed by a judge who has pushed the hearing back to Friday.
Some child advocacy groups say the 50-year-old pop star’s plans to adopt a young Malawian girl have been fast-tracked because of Madonna’s money and status. One accused her of acting like a rich “bully.”
Meanwhile, a coalition of non-governmental organizations held a press conference in the capital, Lilongwe, criticizing the pop star’s latest adoption application.
“Mercy James is a child who has her extended close family members alive and we urge Madonna to assist the child from right here,” a statement from the coalition said.
Mabvuto Bamusi, the coalition’s national co-ordinator, said they were asking the court to uphold the country’s laws and to “fully” assess Madonna’s second adoption bid.
Do you think the courts really think that Madonna is being a bully, or are they trying to get more money out of her? She saved David’s life and he looks very happy. The 4-year-old girl is in an orphanage and needs a home. (Hence why she is in an orphanage.) The girl’s “extened close family” are not taking care of her. It seems that people holding up the second adoption might be trying to siphon money from Madonna.

We’ve all heard the tales of what a control freak Madonna can be. Here’s another one for the collection.
Madonna told boy toy Jesus Luz that he isn’t allowed to answer cell phone calls in her presence.
“She just turned on him. She told him it was rude for him to take a phone call in front of her. He stood up for himself and they had quite a heated argument. “Madonna agreed to let him answer the mobile when she’s around, but only in emergencies.”His family claims they always know when he’s with her because they can’t get him on the phone. And it’s true. He’ll see his phone ringing and he just has to let it go.”
Here’s the kicker. That rule doesn’t apply to Madonna.
“If her phone rings and she wants to take the call, she’ll do it. This is not a relationship of equals.”
We have a feeling these two aren’t together anymore. Jesus was spotted partying with girls closer to his own age (and half of Madonna’s) over the weekend.
Good ol’ Madge probably had a rule about that too, right?!
