Here is a list of what some of Hollywood’s most talked about people earned in 2007. Remember, these are just 2007 earnings, not their total net worth. Somehow, Dr. Phil made $90 million in 2007 alone. I guess dispensing all of that, “I’ll tell you what” wisdom really pays off. The most peculiar entry on this list is Leona Helmsley’s dog, Trouble, who got $12 million dollars in her will, making Trouble a higher 2007 earner than Katherine Heigl and on equal to Ryan Seacrest. Isn’t that just a little insane?

Oprah Winfrey plans to dedicate Friday’s episode of her show to her beloved Cocker Spaniel, Sophie, who died last month from kidney failure.

“Sophie gave me 13 years of unconditional love. She was a true love in my life,” Winfrey says on the broadcast scheduled to air Friday.

The episode will be investigating abuses at puppy mills. Lisa Ling, the show’s special correspondent, called the investigation of these mills “horrific” and “haunting.”

Oprah says the show is “for anybody anywhere who loves a dog, has ever loved a dog, or just cares about their basic right to humane treatment.”

All of Oprah’s dogs were adopted through credible breeders but after seeing Ling’s report the daytime chat legend says in the future she would look to adopt from an animal shelter.

“I would never, ever adopt another pet now without going to a shelter to do it. I am a changed woman after seeing this show,” she says.

After Britney Spears helped CBS’ How I Met Your Mother earn its highest ratings of all time, Tina Fey says she wouldn’t mind if the pop singer popped up on her NBC sitcom 30 Rock.

“We would love to work with Britney,” Fey, 37, told reporters yesterday in a conference call. “I’ve worked with her twice on Saturday Night Live and she was very professional and nice.”

Fey also has her eyes set on another A-lister: Oprah Winfrey.

“I want Oprah to play my best friend,” Fey said. “I want to spend time with Oprah, and I don’t know what I need to do to make it happen.”

Oprah Winfrey’s 13-year-old Cocker Spaniel, Sophie, has passed away of kidney failure.

“Everyone here is really sad,” a source at her Harpo production company told Celebrity Dog Watcher. “Sophie was truly part of the Harpo family as well as Oprah’s.”

In the December issue of O, Winfrey wrote about Sophie’s condition, saying that she and beau Stedman Graham were “preparing for the inevitable.”

The two have another Cocker Spaniel, Solomon.

Less than a year ago, they lost their beloved Golden Retriever, Gracie, who chocked on a ball.

Oprah Winfrey is getting into business with Kirstie Alley.

Winfrey’s Chicago-based Harpo Productions has inked a development deal with Alley for TV projects. A daily talk show hosted by Alley is already under consideration.

The deal comes a few years after Alley made a series of high-profile appearances on Winfrey’s talk show in order to discuss her weight. Most famously, she wore a bikini on Winfrey’s show after a major weight loss achieved via Jenny Craig.

Harpo Prods. president Tim Bennett described Alley as “incredibly relatable and a true fan favorite.

“We are looking forward to working together to bring viewers everywhere her distinctive voice and comedic flair,” Bennett added.
