ABC’s Chris Cuomo: Prince Harry is ‘Expendable’

Why is this guy on TV?  ABC’s Chris Cuomo is kind of a prick.  He calls Prince Harry “expendable” and says that is why he went to Afghanistan and Prince William has not.  Talk about insensitive!  Listen to Robin Roberts’ flabbergasted, “What did you say?” comment.

Prince Harry: “It was fantastic.”

Prince Harry would have liked to serve longer in Afghanistan, but knows reports of his whereabouts compromised his safety and the safety of those serving with him.

“I’m looking forward to having a bath but, no, I would like to have stayed back with the guys,” he told the media.

The 23-year-old royal distanced himself from talk that his service makes him a hero. “I wouldn’t say I’m a hero,” he said, praising the sacrifice of those injured and killed. “The bravery of the guys out there was humbling.”

“It was fantastic,” he said. “I was hugely grateful for having the opportunity. I enjoyed being out there… actually being out in the middle of nowhere, with the stars out… it was just a fantastic place to be. And sometimes… it’s hard to actually bring yourself back to reality and say, ‘No, I could actually get shot at at any point’ just because the area itself was so nice.”

“I would love to go back out,” he added.

Prince Harry Arrives Home Safely

Prince Harry returned home from Afghanistan on Saturday, welcomed back by his brother Prince William and his father Prince Charles.

“It’s a great relief to see him home in one piece,” Charles told reporters.

The prince, 23, arrived with around 170 other soldiers at the Royal Air Force Base Brize Norton, in Oxfordshire, 50 miles northwest of London, just before 11:30 a.m. local time.

Fifteen minutes later – carrying his gear and dressed in his desert fatigues – he stepped off the RAF Tristar jet, which returned from the frontline in an overnight flight from Kandahar.

He didn’t glance towards the large number of media crews and press photographers at the base. Inside the terminal, he was reunited with his brother William, 25, and Charles, 59.
Before he took off, Harry spoke candidly of his regret at coming home early, and he said he would relish the chance to prove himself again in battle. As third in line to the British throne, it was feared Harry had become a prime target for Taliban fighters when his involvement in the war was revealed February 28.

Prince Harry’s girlfriend Chelsy Davy was understandably concerned when his cover was blown and it was reported Thursday the 23-year-old royal had been serving in Afghanistan since December.

“She was so worried when his location was revealed unexpectedly,” a source says. “The worst kind of things had been going through her mind.”

“It was one of the happiest and emotional moments of her life,” the source says. “She was in a state of ecstasy and tears. Honestly, the things she had been thinking in the hours running up to that moment. All she wants now is to see him again – it’s been such a long time.”

Prince Harry is on a plane out of Afghanistan.

“He has left the base and is en route to another location,” the source reports.

The 23-year-old royal has been serving there with British troops since December.

“We will not comment on the whereabouts of Prince Harry,” a Ministry of Defense spokesperson says.

Defense Secretary Des Browne said in a statement, “I am delighted that Prince Harry has had the opportunity to serve on operations in Afghanistan with his Battlegroup. In common with all the other British soldiers in Afghanistan he has done so with courage and distinction. We can be proud of him and all his fellow soldiers - we owe them all a great deal. The British media have shown great restraint in not reporting his deployment and I would like to thank them for doing so. It is however a great pity that the news has now been broken by media overseas.”

Harry’s deployment was widely posted after an item on the Drudge Report.

Prince Harry has been secretly fighting in Afghanistan for 10 weeks

According to the Daily Mail:

“Prince Harry has been fighting the Taliban on the front line in Afghanistan, the Ministry of Defence confirmed today.”

“The 23-year-old Household Cavalry officer has spent the past 10 weeks secretly serving in war-ravaged Helmand Province.”

“The deployment had been cloaked in secrecy under a news blackout deal agreed across the UK media to prevent details reaching the Taliban and endangering Harry and his comrades. But the arrangement broke down today after news was leaked out on the US website the Drudge Report.”

“As part of the deal a group of journalists had visited the prince in Helmand on condition that details would only be publicized once he was safely back in the UK.”

“The deal was arranged after Harry’s planned tour to Iraq last year had to be cancelled because of a security risk sparked by publicity.”
