During his promotional duties for New Moon, Twilight hunk Robert Pattinson is dishing about his new take on relationships:

“Getting involved in Twilight has definitely changed my mind about how people are kind of fanatical about wanting to have the perfect relationship. I had no idea that people were so desperate and felt like it was so unobtainable. They want to put this idea of unconditional devotion just so high above everything else, which is why they can’t get enough of this story.”

And, of course, ladies love the scene where he is taking almost all of it off. “I felt pretty goofy stepping out into the sunlight in front of 2,000 people in a town square, ripping my clothes off. I was essentially doing a striptease.”

It wasn’t all bad news for the king of vampires. “But here’s the irony, it was also one of the moments where I’ve really felt closest to people’s emotional attachment to Edward. There were so many extras in that scene who were Twilight fans who had flown in just to be a part of it.”

And Pattinson knows his duty of being Edward. “It was a moment where I’ve felt the whole weight of anticipation, and I guess responsibility as well, of being Edward, for all the people who were kind of so obsessed with the stories. It was quite uplifting and it was also very nerve-wracking.”

While many mistaken him for the vampire he plays, he is not Edward. But they still have some things in common. “I guess stubbornness in some ways about some things. Edward is pretty self-righteous, and I guess I am too. I get quite obsessive about things and possessive as well. I have very specific ideas about how I want to do my work and how I want to be perceived, to the point of ridiculousness sometimes.”

Maybe he’s not so perfect after all? “I don’t listen to anyone else. That’s why I don’t have a publicist. I can’t stand it if someone is trying to tell me to do something, even if it’s probably a mistake sometimes. I’m like a control freak about it. I’ve never really struggled with anything until recently. I’ve got to stop being so self-depreciating because people are starting to believe it. Like, ‘That guy is an idiot.’”

Twilight mania hit Los Angeles last night.

Making for one of the most-anticipated red carpet moments of the year, the stars were out in full force at the premiere of “The Twilight Saga: New Moon”.

Held at the Mann Village Theater, the film’s stars including Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart, Taylor Lautner, Dakota Fanning and Kellan Lutz all turned up to greet their screaming fans.

Joining them on the red carpet were fellow stars including Peter Facinelli, Elizabeth Reaser, Christian Serratos, Emilie de Ravin, Edi Gathegi and Jamie Campbell Bower, as well as author Stephanie Meyer and director Chris Weitz.

Meanwhile, other celebs making their way to the evening’s fete included Jennifer Love Hewitt with boyfriend Jamie Kennedy, Emma Roberts, Julianne Hough, Joan Jett and 50 Center, among others.

Due out in theaters on November 20, “New Moon” author Stephanie Meyer recently spoke with Oprah about watching her work come to the big screen.

“It is crazy surreal,” Meyer tells. “The first time I met any of the actors, we had a dinner kind of just to get to know each other, and they had all been doing test shoots for hair and makeup and costumes all day, so they came in costume to dinner.”

Stephanie continues, “And all of a sudden, Carlisle [Peter Facinelli] sits down across from me, and it freaked me out! It’s so weird. You have those moments where you’re so used to it, and then you’ll be sitting there in the cafeteria, and there’s 150 extras milling through a scene and who knows how many people involved in the filming, and there’s this huge crowd, and you look around and say, ‘This is all because I wrote that dream down.’ It’s very hard to process. … Weird.”

Is there about to be a vampire fight between to different franchises? It’s True Blood vs. Twilight!

In a new interview with Marie Claire, True Blood’s resident vampire Stephen Moyer (who plays Bill Compton) has some choice words for New Moon bloodsucker Robert Pattinson’s character, Edward Cullen.

So who do you think would win in this vampire fight?

Our money is on Moyer and True Blood. That show is amazing and much more gruesome than the Twilight franchise.

Among the other winners were “High School Musical 3,” “Yes Man,” “The Dark Knight” and “Baby Mama,” with “High School Musical 3″ picking up two trophies for Best Male Performance and Breakthrough Performance Female.
