In his upcoming book, Lance Armstrong reveals that he and ex-fiancee Sheryl Crow split in 2006. He says it was because she wanted to have children and he didn’t.

“She wanted marriage, she wanted children; and not that I didn’t want that, but I didn’t want that at that time because I had just gotten out of a marriage, I’d just had kids [Luke, 9, and twins Grace and Bella, 7],” Armstrong says in his book Lance (out in July), as excerpted by the New York Post. “Yet we’re up against her biological clock — that pressure is what cracked it.”

Armstrong, 37, says that he and Crow, 47, even went to a counselor, “but really there’s no way to counsel that situation.”

“If somebody wants a child — man, that’s the greatest gift you can give to a woman — … who are you to stand there and say I don’t want one?” he says. “So we were at different points in our lives. We were not compatible on that issue.”

Adds Armstrong (who announced in December that he is expecting a baby with girlfriend Anna Hansen): “I felt like I wasn’t ready … I would have been in the future, but not then.”

In May 2007, the unwed Crow adopted a two-week-old boy, Wyatt.

Of motherhood, Crow says, “It’s great! I love every minute of it.”

“The best part is all of it,” she added. “I would love more kids! I don’t know about 14 kids, but I’d love more!”

We wonder what Sheryl will think of Lance’s book! He spilled some really personal stuff about her and their relationship.  One wonders why Lance would pick now to talk about his famous ex. Probably to sell books. Duh!

According to Star magazine, Jennifer Aniston, 40, is planning on adopting.

Jen has already started the paperwork with an agency in California and is planning to take home a baby boy.

“She doesn’t want to wait,” a source says. “Her best friends all have kids, and Jen sees how much motherhood changed their lives for the best.

“She’s dying to have that!

“Jen has already started planning a $250,000 nursery at her home in Beverly Hills, and has even picked out her nanny. Unlike Angelina Jolie, she wants a baby from the USA.

She is getting help from close friends including Sheryl Crow, who adopted a baby boy two years ago. “Sheryl is walking her through the process step by step,” says another insider.

I guess if you are thinking about adopting, Angelina Jolie would be the person to talk to. Drew Barrymore shared her desires for having a child at a Golden Globe afterparty with Angelina. 

Drew was heard to say:

‘My biological clock is ticking so loud it sounds like a drum. I want kids so bad, but with no husband prospects around, I am thinking of adopting.’

Angelina was then seen giving Drew her phone number and telling her she’d be happy to help if she does decide to adopt.

Barrymore might also want to talk to Sheryl Crow, who adopted her beautiful son Wyatt.

Jennifer Aniston and Courteney Cox have been having some fun in the sun in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico over the holiday break.  Also, Jen’s movie, Marley & Me was number one again at the box office this weekend.

Jen and Courteney were joined by gal pals Sheryl Crow and Laura Dern. All the ladies showed off their bikini bodies and they all look fantastic.

Also joining in on the family beach fun were Courtney’s husband, David Arquette, and their young daughter Coco, along with Laura’s hubby Ben Harper and Sheryl’s son Wyatt.

John Mayer, Jen’s beau, also went along. He did spend some time bonding with his brothers while there.

It sounds like fun was had by all!

Owen who? Kate Hudson is cozying up to another famous Texan.

Fresh off her breakup with Owen Wilson, Kate spent the weekend with another celeb from the Lone Star State — seven-time Tour de France winner Lance Armstrong.

Kate and Owen were seen together in his hometown of Austin on both Friday and Saturday nights. First, the pair dined at the high-end Eddie V’s restaurant, and the next night they hit the Hula Hut with Lance’s three children and a group of friends.

This hookup is truly a case of Six Degrees of Separation: Hollywood Edition. Kate’s frequent costar Matthew McConaughey is best buddies with Lance. Meanwhile, Kate’s ex, Owen, dated Lance’s former fiancé Sheryl Crow. Plus, Sheryl reportedly hooked up her friends John Mayer and Jennifer Aniston, who is currently costarring with Owen in Marley and Me.

Whew!

Kate was previously married to Black Crowes singer Chris Robinson, with whom she has a son; Lance — who most recently dated Ashley Olsen —was married to writer Kristin Armstrong, with whom he has a son and twin daughters.

John Mayer had fresh flowers delivered to the hotel room he shared with Jennifer Aniston almost everyday for the five sexy days they spent together in Miami.

Mayer flew to Miami April 23 to see the 39-year-old actress during a break from shooting Marley & Me. The couple stayed at the Mandarin Oriental Miami before switching to the less public Conrad Miami.

“She just always seemed like a lot of fun to him,” a Mayer insider says.

Rumor is that one of Jen’s closest pals, Sheryl Crow, who is a mutual friend of John Mayer’s set the two up.

Sheryl Crow, who a close pal of Jennifer Aniston, recently mouthed off about Jennifer’s three-year-old split from Brad Pitt. Sheryl was comparing the media coverage in that breakup to the coverage of her own split from bicyclist Lance Armstrong. She claims that both she and Aniston dumped their men, but the media says it was the other way around.

Sheryl Crow has claimed that Jennifer Aniston dumped Brad Pitt rather than the other way around.

The couple split in 2005 after five years of marriage amid rumours that Pitt had fallen for Angelina Jolie on the set of their movie Mr and Mrs Smith.

However, Crow said she learned the truth when she became friends with Aniston after the actress ditched Pitt and she split from cyclist Lance Armstrong.

She said: “For both of us, the perceived idea is that, in our big relationships, we both got dumped. Believe me, this is not true. Neither one of us has ever gotten dumped. No one ever knows what goes on in relationships.

“Unfortunately, for some people like Jennifer and me, so much is written about things that you don’t say, and so many emotions are attributed to you that you haven’t had.”

A friend also insisted that Aniston had called time on the marriage, telling the National Enquirer: “Once Jen saw the writing on the wall, she dumped Brad.

“She took a cold, hard look at her marriage and realised it was irretrievably broken. She and Brad had vastly different personal agendas and feelings about love, career and having a family.”
