Video: Tiger Woods’ Apology

Feb 19, 2010 Author: YourCelebrityStuff | Filed under: Tiger Woods

Here is the video of Tiger Woods‘ press conference, in case you missed it.

Tiger Woods’ wife Elin skipped his much-hyped press conference Friday morning. Instead, Tiger, 34, stood alone in sports coat and dress shirt as he addressed a small group of friends, colleagues and close associates at the clubhouse at TPC Sawgrass, home of the PGA Tour, in Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla. (The Golf Writers Association of America boycotted the conference because Woods did not reporters to ask any questions.)

“I want to say to each of you simply and directly: I am deeply sorry for my irresponsible, selfish behavior,” Woods, 34, said from a simple lectern at the TPC Sawgrass golf course in Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla. “I know people want to find out how I could be so selfish and so foolish. People want to know how I could have done these things to my wife Elin and to my children. And while I have always tried to be a private person, there are some things I want to say.”

“Elin and I have started the process of discussing the damage caused by my behavior,” he explained, adding, “My real apology will not come in the form of words, but my behavior over time. We have a lot to discuss. What we say to each other will remain between the two of us.”

During his 15-minute remarks, the golfer explained that he sought in-patient therapy beginning in late December, where he received “guidance for the issues I’m facing.”

“I had a lot of time to think of what I have done,” he said. “My failures have made me look at myself in a way I never wanted to before.”

Sober and contrite in tone, Woods also took time to clear up speculation around his bizarre car accident on Nov. 27. “I have a lot to atone for,” he said, “but there’s one issue I really want to discuss. Some people have speculated that Elin somehow hurt or attacked me on Thanksgiving night. It angers me that people would fabricate a story like that: Elin never hit me that night or any other night. There has never been [any] domestic violence in our marriage. Ever.”

Praising his wife’s “enormous grace and poise,” the embattled athlete said he hoped the media would focus its attention on him and his indiscretions – not his wife or children.

“The issue involved here was my repeated irresponsible behavior,” he said. “I was unfaithful. I had affairs. I cheated. What I did is not acceptable – and I am the only person to blame. I stopped living by the core values that I was taught to believe in. I knew my actions were wrong, but I convinced myself that normal rules didn’t apply. Instead, I thought only about myself. I ran straight through the boundaries a married couple should live by. I thought I could get away with whatever I wanted to. I felt that I had worked hard my entire life and deserved to enjoy all the temptations around me.”

Tiger Woods Yacht Privacy

Tiger Woods and his pals have boarded his yacht (which he named Privacy) and set sail after loading up on supplies at Costco.

Woods, 33, is going to cruise in the Bahamas for a few days after hanging around the Palm Beach Gardens area this past week.

Although no one has seen Woods, tight security has been guarding the Old Port Cove Marina for more than a week. One eyewitness reported that a limo arrived at the marina Friday, before the boat departed the next morning.

Tiger and his buddies will be living in luxury while on his yacht. The 6,500 sq.-ft. craft, which has a range of 4,000 miles, is capable of crossing the Atlantic on its 12,000-gallon fuel tank at a maximum speed of 17 knots, according to Power and Motoryacht magazine. Privacy also offers all the comforts of home and then some: a 2,000-gallon water tank, five guestrooms, a Jacuzzi, a gym, an elevator, a sky-lounge bar, a walk-in refrigerator, a deck dining area that seats 12, and two built-in wall safes. It reportedly sleeps 21 people.

In happier times, Woods and Elin Nordegren when were just newlyweds back in 2004, the couple spent their honeymoon aboard the tony $20 million vessel, sailing the Caribbean sea and visiting Puerto Rico. Among guests they later hosted onboard included Bill Gates, Oprah Winfrey and Michael Jordan.

Tiger Woods' Wife Hires Top Divorce Lawyer

Numerous news sites have been reporting that the divorce is ‘100 percent on’. Adding more credence to the reports that she’s planning on leaving her husband Tiger Woods, Elin Nordegren has retained the services of high-powered Hollywood divorce lawyer Sorrell Trope.

Elin has been consulting the veteran attorney prior to taking her children and heading for her homeland for the holidays.

And that could mean Tiger will be paying up big time for his adulterous infidelities. Divorce lawyer Robert Wallack called Trope “the dean of the California matrimonial bar.”

And family attorney Alexandra Leichter described the 82-year-old lawyer as one of the elite. “He’s in a class of maybe 12 or 15 lawyers that handles very high-asset, high-income divorces with contentious custody cases.”

A source says “She’s not going to let Tiger talk his way out of this… There’s nothing he can say to erase years of betrayal.”

TMZ is reporting that Nike rival Puma is interested in signing Elin to a contract; coincidentally Nike has been the most supportive sponsor of Tiger Woods during the past two tumultuous weeks.

Tiger Woods as 50 Cent

50 Cent is giving his 2 cents about the Tiger Woods situation.

50 talked about the golfer’s problems during an interview with George Lopez.

The rapper says Woods could have kept his mistresses a secret if he’d been more ‘gangster.’ (Pictured above: How Tiger Might Look If Dressed Like 50 Cent)

“Tiger…It’s interesting,” he said. “Fear factor – you need a little fear there, a woman need to feel that maybe he’s going to snap, ‘So I ain’t going to say that’.

“With Tiger there’s no fear there. They be like, ‘He left a message on my phone, he say he love me. He was going to leave her.’ And he says, ‘Hey it’s Tiger baby I was trying to get my freak on a little later – if you could call me back.’ Damn – he’s been tried and convicted when his wife hears that.”

50 added that he has been working on a brand of condoms and is now considering adding a tiger stripe to the product. “Thirteen women and no condoms – you’re a gambling man ain’t you Tiger,” he said to Lopez. “Rappers use condoms often. Golfers apparently don’t use condoms.”

Elin Nordegren mom in hospital

The Tiger Woods drama continues. This time it has nothing to do with with his infidelities. A woman that is thought to be around her 50’s was taken to the Health Central Hospital in Ocoee Florida early Tuesday morning from Tiger Woods’ home at 2:36 am.

Reports have claimed that someone inside called 911 and an ambulance was sent. The woman in the hospital and is thought to be Tiger’s mother-in-law, due to a resemblance of Elin Nordegren, Tiger’s wife. We know that Elin’s mom is in the U.S. to be with her daughter, so it could be her.

UPDATE: Elin Nordegren’s mother is in stable condition after being rushed to a hospital early Tuesday morning from Tiger Woods’ $2.6 million mansion.

It was previously reported that an unidentified, middle-aged blonde woman was admitted to Health Central Hospital in Ocoe, Fla.

NBC News is now identifying the woman as Barbro Holmberg, who is Elin’s mother.

Reports have also surfaced that Elin is moving out, as 10 women are now romantically linked to Tiger Woods. Tiger’s wife has had enough and moved out of the $2.6 million Windermere home, neighbors and other sources close to Tiger, told RadarOnline and say that Elin is living nearby in another house.

Tiger Woods’ Wife Could Make $80 Million

Tiger Woods' Wife Could Make $80 Million

Tiger Woods‘ “transgressions” are proving to be costly.

First, Rachel Uchitel has canceled today’s press conference where it was assumed she’d confirm an affair with Tiger. Tiger’s reps have been in negotiation with Rachel all morning and have offered to pay for her silence:

Multiple sources say that Tiger’s people are desperate to keep Rachel from talking about Tiger and that they were willing to go a long, long way to keep her silent.
One source claimed that Rachel was negotiating a $1 million payoff by Tiger’s people to remain silent. When asked about this, lawyer Gloria Allred “no comment.”

Now, his wife Elin Woods was reportedly offered an immediate $5 million payment plus an additional $55 million added to her revised pre-nup if she stays married to Tiger for five more years:

The lawyer familiar with the couple’s negotiations say that Tiger also has agreed to shorten the original prenup to seven years from the date of marriage, meaning it will vest in another two. And the revised agreement provides for a staggered schedule of payments spread out over five years that could be worth upward of $75 million. So for Elin to collect $80 million, she’ll need to stay with Tiger another seven years, be a dutiful wife in showing up with him at social events and in public as if they were still the perfect couple, and sign a nondisclosure form that will prevent her from ever telling her story. Even if she lasts only two more years, she’ll still walk away with nearly twice what she was entitled to under the original prenup.

Tiger’s advisers, who have successfully gotten the couple into counseling sessions, believe that keeping the marriage intact will help Tiger keep his corporate sponsors and bolster his dented image. Elin is herself considered a good asset. She’s never been a publicity hound or used her marriage to make money through self-help books, lecture series, or QVC makeup and jewelry lines. Rather, she’s just maintained a low profile and dedicated herself to being a spouse and mother. As opposed to some other celebrities, like Tom Cruise or Angelina Jolie, Elin has never pushed her kids into the public eye. So, now, if she is persuaded to stay, she knows little will be the same. Her quiet life is finished. A Los Angeles-based paparazzo says that a photo of Elin and the children would fetch $250,000. Some agencies are offering $100,000 just for tips that pay off with photos.

Tiger Woods Apologizes: “I have let my family down”

Tiger Woods Apologizes

The world’s No. 1 golfer, Tiger Woods, took to his Web site today to address the public.

Woods says, “I have let my family down and I regret those transgressions with all of my heart. I have not been true to my values and the behavior my family deserves. I am not without faults and I am far short of perfect. I am dealing with my behavior and personal failings behind closed doors with my family. Those feelings should be shared by us alone.”

“Although I am a well-known person and have made my career as a professional athlete, I have been dismayed to realize the full extent of what tabloid scrutiny really means. For the last week, my family and I have been hounded to expose intimate details of our personal lives. The stories in particular that physical violence played any role in the car accident were utterly false and malicious. Elin has always done more to support our family and shown more grace than anyone could possibly expect. But no matter how intense curiosity about public figures can be, there is an important and deep principle at stake which is the right to some simple, human measure of privacy. I realize there are some who don’t share my view on that. But for me, the virtue of privacy is one that must be protected in matters that are intimate and within one’s own family. Personal sins should not require press releases and problems within a family shouldn’t have to mean public confessions.

Woods goes on to say, “Whatever regrets I have about letting my family down have been shared with and felt by us alone. I have given this a lot of reflection and thought and I believe that there is a point at which I must stick to that principle even though it’s difficult. I will strive to be a better person and the husband and father that my family deserves. For all of those who have supported me over the years, I offer my profound apology.

Tiger Woods Had A Crappy Thanksgiving

Tiger Woods Had A Crappy Thanksgiving

As most of you know, early Friday morning Tiger Woods drove his Escalade into a fire hydrant and a neighbor’s tree either while high on painkillers and/or having just had the shit kicked out of him by his golf club-wielding wife Elin thanks to a National Enquirer story claiming he had sex A-list event planner Rachel Uchitel.

No one’s entirely sure what occurred considering the crash happened at 2:25 a.m. right after Thanksgiving, but after canceling interviews with the police three times this weekend, the Florida Highway Patrol are now looking to obtain a search warrant and file charges against both parties despite Tiger’s attempt to squash the incident on his website. TMZ reports:

Sources tell TMZ the Florida Highway Patrol is now focusing on obtaining a search warrant — allowing them to seize medical records from the hospital that treated Tiger Woods — in an attempt to determine if the wounds Woods sustained are consistent with a car accident or domestic violence.

And there’s more … although alcohol was not involved, Tiger was in and out of consciousness and TMZ has already reported Tiger told a friend he was taking prescription meds for pain, which could be evidence of DUI. This, too, could constitute probable cause to obtain a warrant.

However, considering Tiger Woods’ documented hatred of the press and the fact he could buy the Florida Highway Patrol a fleet of fighter jets, the incident is likely to blow over soon. Rachel Uchitel has already hired high-powered attorney Gloria Allred to sue the National Enquirer after publicly calling the story “bullshit,” and Tiger spoke to a friend on Friday to reveal how he’s going to smooth things over with Elin so she doesn’t shove golf tees in his urethra while he’s sleeping: During the phone conversation on Friday, Tiger told his friend, “I have to run to Zales to get a ‘Kobe Special.’” The person on the other end of the phone asked Tiger what a “Kobe Special” was. The reply — “A house on a finger.”

During the conversation, Tiger said his wife had “gone ghetto” on him.
