Clay Aiken: Yes, I’m Gay

Wow, the celebs are confirming their sexuality this week.

Clay Aiken has decided to officially come out via People magazine.

The cover features Aiken posed with his new son, Parker Foster — who was delivered via a surrogate — and a headline proclaiming, “Yes, I’m Gay.” The subhead continues: “The Idol star opens up about his emotional decision to come out: I cannot raise a child to lie or to hide things.”

Aiken has been defensive in the past regarding his sexuality. In an interview with Diane Sawyer in 2006, he called her “really rude” for asking. “I don’t understand why it’s any of your business.”

Interviewed by MTV News later in 2006, he said, ” who I’m dating and what kind of cereal I eat ain’t gonna benefit anybody else,” he said. “That kind of thing is not important. I think there’s a distinction.”

Aiken, who was the runner-up on the second season of ” American Idol,” is currently appearing in “Spamlot” on Broadway.
