Paltrow has signed on to star in The Danish Girl alongside Nicole Kidman in the story of the relationship between the world’s first ever post-operative transsexual, Einar Wegener (Kidman), and his wife, Greta (Paltrow).

The Oscar-winners are to play husband and wife in an upcoming film about the world’s first transsexual.

Paltrow, 37, and Kidman 42, will play artists Greta and Einar Wegener in “The Danish Girl,” entertainment industry newspaper Daily Variety reported.

Einar Wegener, who will be played by Kidman, was a male artist who underwent groundbreaking surgery to become a woman in 1931 after pretending to be a female model in a series of successful portraits painted by Greta Wegener.

South African actress Charlize Theron had initially been pencilled in for the role of Greta Wegener until being replaced by Paltrow.

Kidman most recently appeared in Baz Luhrmann’s romantic epic “Australia” last year and will next be seen in the musical “Nine.”

Paltrow, who scooped an Academy Award for 1998’s “Shakespeare in Love”, was last seen in 2008 romantic drama “Two Lovers.”

Here are co-stars Katie Holmes and Anna Paquin shooting new scenes for their comedy, The Romantics, in Long Island, New York.

Katie, who replaced Liv Tyler, will play Anna’s best friend and maid of honor in the flick.

The “Mad Money” mommy and the “True Blood” babe looked to be having a marvelous time filming scenes together and chatting with each other during breaks.

Kourtney Kardashian is concerned about her extra weight as a result of her pregnancy.

Kardashian says she’s obsessed with her weight, and can’t wait to have her baby so she can get back in shape.

She told press, “I gained three pounds since yesterday. I weigh myself every day.”

At the Kardashian Charity Knock Out Event, she explained, “Today I vowed that I was going to wear flats, and then at the last second, I threw on some heels. I can’t wait to sit down already. It’s hard carrying extra weight. I’m over the red carpet and being pregnant.”

Kevin Federline will reportedly be a dad for the 5th time. His girlfriend, Victoria Prince is pregnant.

Prince has been accompanying Kevin as he follows ex-wife Britney Spears all over the globe on her recent tour. Apparently, the couple had a pregnancy false alarm earlier this year, but this time things are serious!

A source says, “The test was positive. She told Kevin that she was pregnant, but he didn’t seem happy to hear the news.”

“Kevin wasn’t planning to have children with Victoria, and now he’s upset with her. Kevin says he loves her, but he told her that he didn’t want to get married again.”

Federline has 2 sons, Sean Preston and Jayden James with his famous ex-wife Britney Spears and before that, he already had another son named Kaleb Michael and a daughter Kori Madison with then-girlfriend, actress Shar Jackson.

Speaking publicly for the first time since their 16-year-old son, Jett, died on Jan. 2 after hitting his head on a bathtub during a seizure, John Travolta says that coping with the devastating loss is a daily struggle.

“We’ve been working very hard every day as a family to heal,” Travolta said in an interview with USA Today. Among his and wife Kelly Preston’s coping tools are daily religious counseling sessions.

Travolta, 55, a Scientologist, says he broke his silence to focus on his daughter, Ella Bleu. Ella, 9, costars with her parents in her feature-film debut, the comedy Old Dogs, which opens Nov. 25.

“We decided it was okay to come out and promote, to introduce her to the world and to give her a beautiful future in film,” Travolta said.

Preston, 47, said that the grieving process is always evolving. “It’s a tricky thing,” she noted. “Sometimes, something that’s right for the moment is not right the next day. Being with people who are important to you, being with people that you love, I think that’s what has primarily helped us the most. Sometimes, being alone, too.”

“The outpouring of love from, really, worldwide has been extraordinary,” she told the newspaper. “It’s been our friends, our family, our church. We partake in spiritual counseling pretty much daily.”

Above all, Travolta senses some progress as the family moves forward. “We have our own way of doing it,” he said, “and it has been helping.”

Nicole Kidman has experimented with “strange sexual fetish stuff.”

The “Nine” actress – who divorced Tom Cruise in 2001 following a 10-year union and is now married to country singer Keith Urban – says she has enjoyed exploring with the different aspects of love, sex and relationships over the years.

She explained: “My life has been about exploring types of love. I’ve explored obsession, I’ve explored strange sexual fetish stuff, I’ve explored the mundane aspect of marriage and monogamy. But I’m still on that journey.”

Despite the fascination people have with her love life, the 42-year-old beauty has vowed to take the details of her past relationship with Cruise to her grave.

She told Britain’s GQ magazine: “I have never discussed the intricacies of it and I never will. I burned most of my journals after I remarried. You’re only going to find out bad things. You can’t read somebody’s diary. You shouldn’t read it.

Interesting…Kidman makes it sound like there’s a lot of juicy stuff from her past. Maybe her life was actually pretty boring with Cruise. Maybe it wasn’t. She claims we’ll never know!

While together, Cruise and Kidman adopted children Isabella, now 17, and Connor, now 14.

Only after she had a revelation about her duty to her fans did Rihanna realize that she had to speak out about how she was a victim of ex-boyfriend Chris Brown’s domestic abuse.

And now she’s almost ashamed of herself for having gotten into a relationship with him in the first place.

“I fell in love with this person,” she tells Diane Sawyer in an interview that aired on Good Morning America Thursday. “That’s embarrassing.”

Rihanna, 21, also hinted that it may have taken “eight or nine attempts” before she could finally leave the relationship.

“It’s pretty easy to go back,” she says, affirming Sawyer’s statement that the average woman makes seven attempts to leave an abusive partner. “You start lying to yourself. The physical wounds go away. You want this thing to go away. This is a memory you don’t want to ever have again.”

Now a reconciliation is all but impossible – a judge has ordered Brown, 20, not to contact Rihanna (real name: Robin Fenty) for five years as part of his sentence.

Rihanna says she was further humiliated by the public nature of the incident, which included a leaked photo of her battered face.

“I was like, here goes my little bit of privacy,” she says.

But she had an epiphany about how her actions after the assault would affect thousands of impressionable girls.

“When I realized that my selfish decision for love could result in some young girl getting killed, I could not be easy with that part,” she says. “I couldn’t be responsible for that. Even if Chris never hit me again, who’s to say their boyfriend won’t? Who’s to say they won’t kill these girls? I didn’t realize how much of an impact I had on these girls’ lives until that happened.”

The Office’s Jenna Fischer is usually a pretty easy-going person, but that calm demeanor went out the door when it came to her upcoming wedding to screenwriter Lee Kirk.

“I thought I was going to be one of those easy-going brides,” Fischer, 35, tells Bonnie Hunt in an interview. “I never really thought about it. Whatever … a piece of paper, words – send it out.”

But that attitude disappeared at the store where she bought the invitations.

“Three hours I sat there with the all the books,” she says. “I turned into a crazy person. My fiancé was like, ‘What about the slap it on the piece of paper with crayon and send it out?’ But now I’m pouring over the paper quality!”

But not many people will be seeing the results of her sudden wedding-prep obsession: The wedding will be “very small … sort of immediate family and friends,” she says. “Are you a brother, sister, mother or a father? That’s it.”

It seems that food keeps conspiring against Jeremy Piven.

First, Piven blamed sushi for mercury poisoning, mostly because he has eaten raw fish twice a day for 20 years. (Earlier this year, he bowed out of a Broadway play crying mercury poisoning.)

Now, the actor claims he grew man boobs from drinking excessive amounts of soy milk.

He may play the ultimate macho chauvinist Ari Gold on HBO’s ‘Entourage,’ but Piven got in touch with his feminine side in real life recently, all thanks to soy milk. After consuming the protein-rich beverage daily, the actor says he grew breasts.

“I was the guy that dabbled in soy milk, but now I’ve found out soy milk has enough estrogen for me to grow breasts,” Piven says. “I had to put the soy milk down. It was a very confusing time.”

Consumer and nutritional sciences expert Jill Hamilton-Reeves says that she learned the 44-year-old Entourage actor was drinking 12 cups (about three-quarters of a gallon) of soy milk a day. “That means he was taking in approximately 360 milligrams of isoflavones a day,” Hamilton-Reeves said. “And isoflavones are what people generally believe to be responsible for any effects in male reproductive hormones.”

Perhaps Mr. Piven needs a lesson in moderation!

The 82nd Academy Awards are going to be good!

The Academy has announced that Steve Martin and Alec Baldwin will cohost this season’s Oscar telecast on March 7, 2010.

The announcement that Martin and Baldwin are hosting the 82nd Academy Awards telecast will bring joy to the hearts of those of us who still long for the days of Billy Crystal or Johnny Carson. Plus, they’re both adept comedians who’ll certainly play off each other well.

Where Hugh Jackman brought a no-holds-barred theatricality to this year’s broadcast, Martin and Baldwin will, one imagines, go more for deft patter and a been-around-the-block industry sophistication. Certainly, they are men of elastic talents who have proved themselves on the requisite stage, screen and television. Martin created the template for the modern stand-up-turned-serious-movie-star, while Baldwin’s career morphed from handsome young romantic lead to handsome older master of comedy. Both look quite splendid in a tux and both, I am certain, could participate in a dance number if it is required.

Most important, however, is their comfort level with television and the air of professional ease both have cultivated over the years.

Once professionally frenetic, Martin has recently taken roles that played upon an almost psychotic sense of calm.

And Baldwin has never been afraid to do anything, be it David Mamet, “The Cat in the Hat” or ” Nip/Tuck.” Even if what surrounds him tanks, he remains a pillar of entertainment, capable of surviving even the horror of having his ill-chosen phone messages replayed ad nauseam.

Together, they have played to virtually every sort of house in every sort of role — if nothing else, they will no doubt be the most unflappable hosts in Oscar history.

For Martin, of course, it’s old hat. His spontaneous riff after an onstage crash caused by a crew member’s falling cellphone interrupted the telecast is the stuff of Oscar legend. It’s live television, people, so it’s nice to have television people in front of the camera.

Having two hosts instead of one opens up all sorts of possibilities, and not just in the costume-change department. It’s a long night and a big stage; even the most energetic host can seem small and lost (David Letterman) or dutifully chugging to the finish line (Jon Stewart, though I say it with love because he always made me laugh).

Of course, much depends on the chemistry of the two involved, but it’s hard to imagine this pair fumbling.

With any luck, they will not only shepherd the by-nature unwieldy show through its multiple hours with minimum bumps and dead air, but they’ll also do it with the old-fashioned insiders’ charm that made the academy want to put the event on television in the first place.
